The Sled Team

With the return of Peggy and a small group of researchers, obviously comes a sled team. While spring has since melted most of the snow, the dogs are still kept in the camp, used to pull debris or firewood back to camp, as well as helping to pull the heavier equipment in a small wagon.

The team is led by Atka, a tenacious male Husky with a great knack for problem solving. He is extremely smart, often able to get out of his tether at night and roam.

Syka is regarded as Atka’s second-in-command, and is a rather standoffish female Husky. She can be extremely rude at times, but is a strong and swift member of the team, so the others tolerate her.

Takaani is a very sweet female Husky mix, though she can be a bit of a weak link in the team at times, as she has a rather thin frame, but is extremely swift, and very good at pulling when she is by herself, so she is kept on the team for firewood gathering and such.

Kaskae is a pretty experienced Husky, who would have been the leader of the team, but was passed over for Atka. Kaskae knows this, and is not a fan of Atka because of this, constantly trying to undermine his leadership. He’s a bully, often pushing around some of the weaker dogs.
