Networking Opportunities

Networking means talking doesn't it? It means talking to older and successful, important people? Nope. I jest. I actually have made efforts to go to events. Cool right? 

There’s this event called DublinBeta coming up on the fifth of December which looks quite cool. A small team of game developers from Pulse College are coming there to get some play-testers and feedback so I might show some support and see what's going on there. 

There's also the 1GAM meetups, but I'm thinking of going to one when I actually have a game to show. My project 'Cyber Battle' is almost done, it just needs another week or two of polishing which is super exciting. Again- it’s not perfect but it’s never really going to be, is it? Finally I can feel confident with trying my hand at making another game without feeling bad for not working on this one more.

I've also looked into a 3D meetup which is on the first of December, but am a bit iffy about that one because it doesn't seem like many people are going and it might end up being a room full of professionals in some hotel and then, well, me. I am pretty interested in 3D modelling though and am capable of using software like Solidworks and SketchUp to make models. Obviously I'm not absolutely amazing at it and definitely don't have the confidence to stand around people who do this for a living. I'll just end up ogling at them I feel. 

Finally- and I'm not sure if this will be a networking opportunity but I definitely want to challenge myself in the Global Game Jam on the 20th of January next year. I'm not one for sleep anyway.
