Born in the Surelere district of Lagos she is a modern African woman. Her expectations go beyond those of previous generations & their obsession with becoming rich at any cost.
She does not want raw money. She wants the power to make change. She understands spiritual energy is everything. Love is everything. Purpose is everything. She knows the failures of crumbling infrastructure & has seen youthful innovation first hand.
She stands on the edge of potential & on the cusp of conformity but she is not afraid. Her iPhone gives her trouble sometimes but on this faithful day, she ventured to Takwa Bay with me to take some photos & shoot a music video. Our day went well & in between polite conversations the truth was planted. My mind was too busy & drunk with being in Nigeria to discern all that was being said.
It was only a year later, I learned she was more than a model because I learned she was an ambassador of a new type of cool. The type of cool Young Africans across the continent & it is diaspora have. These Africans are not defined by greed or a lust for money. They are defined by their inherent spirituality & their ability to make this world a better place simply by being present in the moment…❁
