Recently I rewatched the 1999 film “The Talented Mr. Ripley” starring Matt Damon, Jude Law, and Gwyneth Paltrow that is set in Itlay. Of course, I saw the movie when it first came out, back in 1999, but my friend’s note got me interested in watching it again to see if it was as I remembered. It is a dark crime thriller set in the 1950s in Italy. Anthony Minghella directs a story that moves us from the idyllic blue waters of the sun-drenched Amalfi Coast to a busy nightclub in Napoli, to the ruins of Rome and eventually the canals of Venice.
