Some thoughts:
I've been watching James (talenthatter)'s videos for probably a year and half. He always makes engaging, interesting content and I enjoy listening to his stories and rants. I had a bit of a conversation with him at VidCon 2012 and he was really awesome. We've communicated a tiny bit online, but I wouldn't say that we're friends...yet.
Anyways, he's recently started a video project called CodeWordGiraffe that I find very interesting. James struggles with mental health and is keeping a documentation of his struggles and victories through the channel. He's only posted a few videos so far, but I find them intriguing and fascinating. I haven't struggled with mental health (physical health is a different story) but it's a unique perspective to learn from.
The videos don't have much editing and can be lengthy which would usually deter me from watching them, but I don't find myself uninterested or unengaged at all.
I'm not really sure what I wanted to say with this post, but I think it might be this:
James is cool and you should check out his project.
The list of people I know with blue hair is increasing rapidly.
I really want to die my hair now.
I plan to make a more conscious effort to develop a friendship with James. See you at VidCon?
4 reasons why TalentHatter should put me on his Less than Famous VidCon panel.
In which I audition for TalentHatter's amazing Less than Famous Panel.
(Thanks so much for the opportunity, James!)
WIWM: What is it that makes this such a priority to you? James: I’m a big fan of perspective and credibility. I think those are two of the most interesting things we encounter in our day to day lives as human beings and as people of society, and I think that YouTube is its own society and perspective and credibility are things that exist in a grey area of YouTube. People are considered to be experts; we give them credit, but they do not have the traditional credentials to support their findings. . .What makes this panel so significant is because I think that everyone has credibility. I think that life experience gives us all the responsibility to talk about the way we see things and that can’t be discredited.
The Less Than Famous Panel at VIDCON 2K13. In case you missed it.
On today's episode of ZACHESER Vlog, I talk about the < Famous panel at VIDCON 2K13 which I think is an amazingly awesome and beautiful and just cool thing. So happy it's a thing.
