Chris Pike and Vina being the Adam and Eve of the Dalek empire makes so much sense
because next week’s episode may just have me screaming for the next few centuries, let’s do another breakdown because TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS TALOS
MICHAEL IS ON TALOS!!!! I REPEAT!!! MICHAEL IS ON TALOS!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ok sorry i’ve calmed down now
Michael clearly doesn’t know about Talos IV, since end of last episode, she looks over at Spock and asks where he’s taking them. We know that the mission to Talos was classified and there is an order that going back to Talos carries the death penalty, so Michael going there now is very interesting, and I wonder why the shuttle computer didn’t pop up a warning about the order against going to Talos, maybe that will show up next episode
meanwhile, Spock’s voiceover says: “I have seen [a or the] possible future...”
this looks like Discovery is at warp and the Section 31 ship with Leland is chasing them? I’m not sure, or maybe they just happen to be looking for the Discovery because they think that’s where Michael and Spock were heading to?
Pike looks serious and concerned here, I don’t know what is the cause of it, could be a face off with Leland, or perhaps Discovery is heading to Talos IV and this is Pike’s realization of where they are going? Talos IV clearly carries a lot of weight for him given his experiences there - I don’t actually know if Pike will actually be on Talos or if it will only be Michael and Spock on Talos but the possibility of him ending back up on Talos is high, given he’s the one with the most canon connection to that place, but there is also the chance that the writers will do a swerve on us and never have Pike back on Talos
Spock’s voiceover continues: “...one that could be well determined by our actions..”
so Culber and Tyler definitely have a run-in with each other in the mess hall, my guess is Culber does not take it well, it looks like most of everyone is at the mess hall when this fight happens, and Stamets joins in the crowd
I don’t know how this will play out, but I assume someone will break up the fight and maybe some conversations that need to be had will be had? but honestly, I don’t know if this is going to end up well for either Culber or Tyler, for their sakes though, I hope they both find a way to move forward
this looks like a flashback to Spock’s time at the psychiatric unit on Starbase 5
Spock’s voiceover plays through the next couple of scenes: “this could be the defining moment for multiple civilizations, millions of lives...”
this could be Michael’s shuttle heading to Talos IV?
this transition from Red Angel to Pike is interesting - Future Pike being possible Red Angel theories aside, either this is just some clever editing of two entirely different scenes or Pike is going to see the Red Angel or Pike could be looking up because he comes in to stop the fight between Culber and Tyler in the mess hall? it’s really hard to tell if the scenes have any relations
THE BUTTHEADS HAVE RETURNED AND I LOVE THIS NEW LOOK
they look so much better omg! finally the Talosians don’t look utterly ridiculous anymore!!! thank you 2019 tech and make-up!
Michael tells the Talosians to show her Spock’s mind, then we see flashes of scenes, I tried to pause as much as I could to get the flashes, I think I caught all of them but it’s possible I could have missed a flash of something
this looks like a young Spock in bed and something red appears - this could be the moment that Spock saw the Red Angel for the first time when young Michael ran away from home
these two scenes of Spock is difficult to place, they really could be from anywhere, but that snow parka thing Spock is wearing sure looks like the one the Old Spock was wearing in the snow caves in the 2009 Star Trek movie right before Old Spock ran into Kelvin timeline Kirk
the Red Angel again, maybe this is when it appears to Spock?
this is a shot of young Michael running, I assume this is when she ran away from home after the attack on the learning center
this looks like it could be images that Spock received about the future? some sort of weapons are released? they sort of look like the same shape as the probe that attacked Pike and Tyler in the shuttle
it looks like they are headed for Earth?
this looks to be the same scene of young Michael running, and something pops up behind her from beneath the ground, it looks like she’s being chased by some creature?
so the probes or weapons attack and destroy Earth?
I think this is young Michael seeing something caught on fire? I’m not sure...but she is heard screaming
Spock is crying, this could be a memory or maybe in the present he’s experiencing something?
whatever creature that was chasing young Michael seems to have grabbed her and pulled her into the air
Michael in the present gasps awake
Spock is standing over her and says “now do you see?”
so, it looks like Michael and Spock’s story will play out on Talos and we will get a lot of the backstory of what’s been happening with Spock, while Discovery and the crew may be headed there to pick them up? I don’t know if Michael would have signaled the ship or Pike? Culber and Tyler clearly will have a confrontation while Discovery is traveling to wherever it is going, and Section 31 and Leland will likely catch up to Discovery while searching for Michael and Spock?
could there be a final showdown on Talos? I’m not sure, but we do know that Spock and Michael does somehow end up back on the Section 31 ship with Leland to have that sassy “goodbye Spock” moment, and they will clearly reunite with Pike back on the Discovery, so I think it’s likely a showdown on Talos is possible and we may see Pike reunite with the Talosians one more time
this could explain why Spock and Pike eventually in 10 years from now receives contact from the Talosians for Pike to come back there and live with them, after all, their first contact we saw in The Cage was hardly amicable and Spock never really met the Talosians so why would they contact Spock of all people in The Menagerie to get Pike back - so if Spock is now getting help from the Talosians, and Pike maybe sees them again and see that they helped his officer, this explains the more friendly attitude from both sides that would make sense for the Talosians to reach out to Spock and Pike and for Pike to eventually consider living on Talos
but I wonder if we will see Vina again? hmmmm
TALOS 4! TALOS 4! TALOS 4! TALOS 4!!!!
*shrieks into the void*
Vandus: So... why does the song say, "Don we now our gay apparel," but they don't mention rainbows?
Talos: Well, honey, that's because rainbows and gays weren't put together just yet.
Vandus: Well... that's stupid. How did people know one another were gay?
Talos: We sort of flocked together in giant groups, silently asking ourselves if everyone else there was gay, never actually telling each other we were.
Vandus: Uhh. That's rather inconvenient.
Talos: Well, it was until someone leaned in and did this.
Talos: *kisses Vandus*
talos-4 replied to your post“Had a nightmare that managed to transition into a typical Lego...”
Oh my god dude, I have had this dream literally dozens of times. In one I was being harassed by this deamon summoned with a Ouija board, next thing you know, Shopping for bionicles. This is real.
Lego: the antidote for nightmares.
