Another Marvel MerMay piece! This time I did TAMARA RAHN because well she’s a water-breather species so she’s kind of a mermaid! I think she’s neat because she has RED skin and aquatic people are typically given blue or green skin. Since she’s from another planet, I decided to draw some alien fish around her that I made up!
365 Days with Namor
Day 100
"He appears so noble -- almost godlike -- tho he wears but simple swimming trunks!!"
Wherein Namor and his speedo make an impression ... again.
HelLO friend! Do you know of any times that Namor has gone toe to toe with Thor? I am trying to figure out how King Salty would fare against the original 6 in the MCU Avengers. Hulk he can fight to a standstill when he has access to water; he wipes the floor with Tony; and wipes the floor -- affectionately -- with slightly more effort with Steve. I'm guessing that Clint and Nat would wisely abstain from any hand to hand combat with Namor, but Thor would not. Asking for fic reasons! >:)
Hello Friend!!! I always love to hear that there are more fics being made. lol. And yes Namor and Thor have faced off a few times in the comics, most of them being like one off panels like in Thor (2018) #1 (Love the art for this btw) or in the Thor the Mighty Avenger series but they didn’t really fight there since it was more of a team up.
We know that Namor’s face can handle the might of Mjolnir. Fantastic Four (1996) #3
Namor and Thor fight for the first time in Avengers (1963) #3 but they didn’t really get any punches in, it was more of a scuffle where Namor was trying to get the Hammer.
However the best example of them fighting toe to toe would definitely have to be from The Sub-Mariner (1968) #59 since they actually fight for an extended time.
In this issue, Tamara was captured by fisherman by accident and they took her to the UN where they placed her in a tank until they could decided what to with her and asked the Avengers for help, and Thor was sent to guard her. Namor finds out where she is from Namorita, and goes to free her. (I love how Thor was sitting on the tank, lmao) They fight and are pretty even matched, it ends when Thor chucks Namor out to sea.
