Moto, later named Tanglemane, is a ruler of Wahatan and Nala's father in Golden au. I wanna get into his and Sara's story sometime here.
Before Mufasa's and Scar's rivarly, there was Tanglemane's and Ayubu's—which means "one who perseves", but gets confused with Ajabu, that means "stranger"—. They are considered "cousins", even tho it's not exactly known how much related they truly are. Tanglemane does see Ayubu as family, but the later hates his relative with all his soul. It's not secret in the pride that Ayubu wants Tanglemane's leadership. Here in this moment, Ayubu was trying to foul the leader of the Banded Cobra Den that lived in the pride to help him achieve his goal, which just caused him to get attacked and gain his eye scar. Tanglemane just pities his cousin, specially since Ayubu has just had his second daughter (Jioni) not so long ago and Tanglemane can see how Ayubu's lack of parenting is affecting Zira, Ayubu's firstborn.

The Horse running through in Evendim.

Look who made a new friend! And for someone who said he would never ride a horse, Bingo looks quite happy atop Tanglemane... if you ask me!

Just a quick doodle to get this idea out of my brain, plus I wanted to try something new with sketching. Gonna be honest, not a fan of tanglemanes design, but I'm making it work.
So my Tanglemane has a white chin brought on by localized segmental vitiligo! He's genetically predisposed to it, and when he was young he broke his jaw and it got infected. This triggered his vitiligo. He has since healed, but doesn't have pigment there anymore. He is also Nalas dad in this AU!
NOTE* I'm aware lions do not get vitiligo irl. This is a hypothetical. Also if it's inaccurate my bad! Please let me know, this is based off research and a family member who has a different form of vitiligo but I'm not 100% sure
“Ayubu! Cousin! Help me!”
Sadly, this is the moment Tanglemane loses his leadership to the two barbary twins, Mtemi (left) and Mkuu (right).
Tanglemane could have actually won, hasn’t him been poisoned by his cousin a few moments before. Yes, Ayubu convinced an Indian Cobra named Naja to put some of its venom on Tanglemane’s share of food. His plan was to challenge Tanglemane once the venom started to kick in, so Ayubu could win the leadership of the pride “fairly”.He didn’t count on the two rogues that decided to attack the pride at the same time.
Ayubu, like a coward he is, just leaves Tanglemane to deal with the rogues, while he secures Heba and his daughters, not caring about what this males could do to the pride.
