Willow vs Stranger Things
(This is a post that I actually wrote several days ago, so the frustration here is a bit repetitive.)
Lucasfilm and fucking Disney (before they erased Willow because for some money reasons) had more balls than the Duffers... In any way. At any point. Twice! (and there are obviously other shows as well)
This happens right before we even reach the 20 minute mark. Of the first episode. The show is btw also aimed at a younger audience.

And I'm not even a big Tanthamore shipper, but nonetheless show runner Jon Kasdan and his crew surprised me years ago.
The Duffers however:
And all they did, before they completely erased Vickie at the end, is a peek through the door-kiss.... on Netflix? (were those 3 inches?) That's as much representation that you get.
Wait, what is it now?
With an obscure throwaway line?
Just saying that the Duffers didn't chicken out, they just didn't want things to happen and hide it behind obscurity and implications.
Here's an idea, Duffers: if you want to imply that there are multiple endings/Season 5, you've chosen the wrong medium. Video games can do that way better ; television isn't that great to do that. Even though there are examples of these but I'm not sure if you reach a broader audience. However, they at least let the viewer actually choose. That's not even possible with what you did.
Just wanted to let you know that not all white male show runners and creatives are like the Duffers.
