Every pride, you must reblog this. No exceptions
I love that four different people on my feed scheduled this joyous person to reblog by 8am on June 1. I look forward to seeing this a dozen more times today.

Hey! Just a reminder! AO3 does NOT have an app. This garbage was made by theives who steal fan artist’s work and sell it back to you.
“Oh, but it’s free!” There are ads. They are making money off of this. They are stealing from the creators you love and you are hurting those same creators if you use this app or any similar app.
Don’t use it. Report it at every opportunity.
This town is exactly big enough for the two of them.
Just them.
:D
LEGEND OF THE SEEKER 1x03 ‘Bounty’
i feel like i don’t post enough/any of my mel doods so here’s some of my recent faves
(links // tip jar!)
Thanks @_ibatullin_ildar_.
not to be a dirty commie or anything but i don't think any one person should have enough money to solve world hunger and then get to decide not to
still living with my parents as an adult is just like. i'm grateful to not have to pay for groceries. i have to get out of here. i'm grateful to have a roof over my head and not have to pay rent. i have to get out of here. i'm grateful to not have to worry about sending out endless job applications that all lead to nowhere. i have to get out of here. i'm grateful i'm grateful i'm so fucking grateful. i have to get out of here
Just been listening to this song on repeat all day and thought, this might make a really good tanthamore edit. Is it perfect, no! Is it made with love and not talent, very much so. Please enjoy this late night Willow edit that I had a random burst of desire to create.
idk why so many people are acting like this win means it’s all settled now when tumblr clearly stated they still are looking into how to change reblogs.
like I’m really not trying to squash anyone’s relief and celebration, but don’t go soft on them just bc you think it’s all said and done now. this whole fixation on “giving credit to everyone who reblogs” thing is really bizarre imo, as is trying to fix something that’s not broken to begin with.
so yes, it’s great they’re reversing it, but don’t ignore what could happen next. they’re probably waiting until the outrage dies down and people forget about this shit. do not forget what they did and still plan on doing.
and for the love of all that is fucking holy, support your fave creators by REBLOGGING.
Tumblr March 2026 Blackouts
So we're all pissed at the new update as we should be and I've been seeing many people proposing blackouts, which is amazing! But all the dates are different and people might get confused at what's happening when, so I just want to organize every blackout (at least that I saw) in one place.
So far I saw six people with dates.
The earliest one, organized by @yourlocalfandomfriendo begins on March 18th and will last 48 hours.
This overlaps with a second proposed blackout by @veejiez for March 19th.
There is also one on the 20th proposed by @daysleftofsecondterm and another one on the same day from 6AM UTC to 6AM UTC on the 21st by @everythingwsnormalhere.
These three days are all very soon so not everyone may see them in time to participate, but if you are able to participate for any or all of these days, I highly encourage you do. Otherwise there are two more blackouts coming up:
The next one after these will be on March 24th as organized by @aroacesafeplaceforall who suggested doing 12 hours.
And the last one, which I personally have a lot of hope for as it's a major day for activity on Tumblr and a blackout then could be especially impactful: April 1st, as proposed by @darkwood-sleddog
There is also a discord set up by @yourlocalfandomfriendo and @aroacesafeplaceforall for anyone interested in joining in!
SO OVERALL, it may sound like a lot, but no one expects everyone to participate to every date here. But PLEASE try to participate in at least one or two of these, even if you feel it may not do much.
Typical strikes, the ones we hear about all the time, win by withholding their labour for consistent periods of time; that's the power people have at work because that's what's exploited.
For blackout strikes, we need to withhold our attention; the resource we own which is exploited through the selling of both advertisements and data.
My comparison of blackout strikes with regular strikes will be for a whole other post, but for the time being, just know that
withholding our attention is our digital bargaining weapon
Tumblr literally lost 63% of its monthly traffic from 2024 to 2025; they are not in a position to play around with those of us still here.
So PLEASE try participating. We cannot let every decent online space get enshittified with no care or consideration for the communities using those spaces.
And where labour strikers risk losing incomes and jobs, all blackout strikers risk is... gaining some of their attention back for a little bit.
Update on tumblr's new update...
After some investigation, it looks like the claim that "the love flows up to the last person in the chain" is not accurate - reblogs that are not DIRECTLY from the OP, even if no one has added anything, simply will not show up in the notes at all. At present, the only way to see the actual number of reblogs on a post is through the reblog graph, and the only way to see if people have left tags on a post that they reblogged from someone who reblogged it from you is to click through every item on the reblog graph individually. If you posted a piece of art, and your friend reblogged it, and someone reblogged it from them and gushed in the tags... there is now NO way for you to see that.
If this strikes you as wildly discouraging and likely to make people stop posting new stuff since they'll never know if anyone saw it or liked it... pretty much! Tumblr's core feature is the reblog, the ability of people to show a cool post to their friends, who can then show it to their friends, without ever "taking it away from" the person who originally posted it. As it currently stands, this functionality has been almost entirely broken. I do hope that this is a bug, as it's not how the announcement post made it sound like it was going to work, but it's a bit of a red flag that they rolled it out like this.
what’s the point of posting on tumblr if you can’t even see the tags people add. the tags are the best part
also, as someone who isn't an artist or content creator, this also completely breaks how i use the site. i open the reblogs on basically every post that interests me - just to see what people are saying, laugh or roll my eyes or enjoy the collective freakout, find people whose contributions stand out enough for me to follow them (or block them), get a sense of the conversation around topics of note, etc. i have zero interest in just watching posts roll by with few visible notes. this destroys the engagement and community experience even for 'passive' users
Remember to tell staff how you feel about the update
as a denizen of this busted ass website for half my life now i do know how staff works and i’m going to lay out what they think will happen as someone who has witnessed this exact thing play out
People get very mad for a few days and then roll over and accept the change to the enclosure. This is what they are betting on. They have had meetings about this.
Getting around it: set an alarm. Get mad not just now, but in a few days, a week, two weeks. They are expecting people to sigh and get over this very odd edit to the site in a few days. Keep flooding them for more than just tonight. Be mad for the week, for the month. Leave a message every day.
like . I cant even blame them for being like “we’ll monitor for the week”. Remember when they changed the blue back in like 2015? This website acted like staff had gone into their house and shot their dog. We’re here because we’re allergic to change and therefore it’s hard to parse if people hate the change because it’s bad or because we go into thermonuclear meltdown over what color blue the background of the website is. Just continue to bug them beyond today and beyond this week.
Another "for later" step I'd recommend is, once the changes are out in the mobile app (NOT YET), leave a one star review on the app store and mention why. If the rating goes down significantly, that provides quantitative evidence that people do not want this change and it's a bad idea.
