Soft launching my OC, Rìkeya, one of the Sarentu who wasn’t rescued with Tamtey. She was one of three, later recovered by Mercer to have their training completed.
These were just playing around with what she could look like (Click for better quality). Left is the first try, just sort of a rough idea, right is more what I envisioned but I’m still playing with her face shape, features, etc. I applaud all the artists on here, this is not easy 😭 basic timeline + game pics under cut
- Rìkeya, 20, lethal RDA soldier partnered with her brother, Satìrey. Her appearance is very human influenced, sporting a human haircut and metal piercings.
- Very close with the other member of their group, Ka’renu, who was killed only a few months post-cryo
- At some point after Ka’renu’s death, Rìkeya and Satìrey caught word of Tamtey disrupting RDA activity. They were obviously curious about the existence of the other Sarentu, however there was strong resentment there, since they were made to believe the resistance/Sarentu had abandoned/chosen to leave them behind when they were rescued from cryo
- They were temporarily relocated to avoid interaction with the other Sarentu, placed with the RDA near the Omatikaya clan.
- Rìkeya and Satìrey were given specialized training there under the Recom team (and Mangkwan, once they were in the picture). Satìrey worked under Lyle, due to his particular interest and talent in sharpshooting.
- While Rìkeya was trained and skilled with metal weapons, she had a preference for archery. Obviously Mercer didn’t allow this, but at some point during her time with Quaritch and the rest of the Recom, one was made for her.
- The bow is fully metal, fixed with all the human tech so that it didn’t resemble a Na’vi weapon at all. This ensured she was allowed to keep it even when returning to the Western Frontier.
- Sometime after the events of From the Ashes, they were sent back to the western frontier to counter Tamtey and So’lek’s efforts against the RDA there. Having spent so much time with the RDA/Mangkwan, they had fresh resentment towards the Sarentu. They had influence from Quaritch/Recom team’s hate for Jake and the Na’vi and Varang/Mangkwan’s hate for Eywa.
- Tamtey and Rìkeya had their first interaction sometime after returning to the region, where Rìkeya prevented Tamtey from downing a facility, which was the first time she hadn’t successfully destroyed one.
- Both Tamtey and Rìkeya left uninjured, but she saw enough to realize Rìkeya was another Sarentu. Of course she freaked out and went home to hound So’lek about it, who wasn’t aware of Rìkeya and Satìrey either. The only one truly aware of their existence was Alma Cortez, but she was no longer around to tell them about it.
-Tamtey and Teylan dug through everything they could to find information on them, enduring sleepless nights in the resistance HQ, traveling to abandoned facilities, etc. Eventually they found files on them buried deep in TAP, outdated, but they were able to confirm the existence and survival of Rìkeya, Satìrey, and Ka’renu. The files were old enough that they didn’t contain Ka’renu’s death.
- The Sarentu/Resistance debated for a long time on a solution. They considered every option until an opportunity arose to bring Rìkeya in. She sustained injuries while attempting to prevent Tamtey from destroying a facility, so her and So’lek brought her back home, treating her as a sort of glorified prisoner. She hated all of it, and saw it as confirmation that her resentment toward the Sarentu was justified.
- During her time there, she had spoken with Ri’nela the most, who was hellbent on convincing her to leave the RDA. It didn’t work, of course. Rìkeya was able to escape, but what Ri’nela told her stuck with her.
- At some point both Rìkeya and Satìrey left the RDA and found their way back to the Sarentu, only making them a target for the humans. The Sarentu took them in, but it was a long and difficult adjustment. Rìkeya constantly fought with Nor, who despised her and her brother, and remained closed off and abrasive to everyone else.
- Over much time, Rìkeya developed feelings for Ri’nela, but she was torn, having spent so long living in hate and anger, love was a foreign concept to her. So she took on a role as sort of protector to her. Ri’nela felt it too, but she never pushed. She was gentle, teaching her all the beauty of Pandora she had missed out on.
- In time they understood the truth. Everything they had heard from the RDA was twisted, or a complete lie. Rìkeya and Satìrey’s hatred toward the Sarentu and Na’vi completely flipped into hatred for the RDA/sky people. Both of them eventually became fierce fighters for the resistance and Pandora, and loyal members of the Sarentu clan.

I love her so much it’s not even funny. I’m going to make a game save for Satìrey too so I can get pics of him. But here’s a few of my favorites of Rìkeya. If you made it this far, thank you for seeing the vision 🙏
She was trained to obey, kind of have been “broken in” but when they piece her back together again it fucked something up, her brain
it didn’t work n it just made her angry
So they try to break her again
That kind of just backfired entirely, they leave her alone now mostly, she still does her job but controlling her is out of the question, she’s killed her last superior but she’s also still very useful to the RDA
She enjoys the things they tell her to do, she would leave if not
They knew better than to make an avatar for her because that’s the same as releasing a plague with a 100% fatality rate
I also love unhinged characters, as in unhinged in a mentally unstable way
Not graphic but implied it’s just sketches anyway
Tw // violence, murder, power dynamics but just for a bit of superior/subordinate, fucked up logic of ownership and love
Likes others dependency on her, because it breeds control over them
Would never try to hurt Vieno, but she gets very close, homicidal urges but really it’s just morbid curiosity and her inability to feel empathy, it’s kind of like having a pet for her
Vieno defected at some point, she stayed though, she didn’t know why Vieno left or that their tongue was cut, but when they reunite that’s when she finds out
And that it was because they spoke up for the Sarentu children
She does not like them at all, it’s their fault Vieno got hurt
But in front of Vieno they’ll smile
The Sarentu children know the smile does not reach her eyes
She does not act quick after she finds out, she needs to look first, see, she finds out it was their superior
She won’t outright kill the person responsible immediately, she plans it out, gets close to them, friendly, nice, the way Vieno is, she learned it from Vieno after all, how to be kind and good, for her benefit, she likes Vieno because Vieno is nothing like her
Her superior thinks she’s finally changed, the training kicked in, the tests
That’s until she finally gets him alone, fucked up dynamics of course, superior thinks she wants to get in his pants. Has him sit down in a chair. Ties his hands behind him. She’s tracing her fingers over her chest, straddling him.
“What happened to Vieno?”
“What—“
“Were you ever going to tell me you had their tongue ripped off, sir?” the way she says the title of rank is sickeningly sweet.
“Untie me, right now, this isn’t funn—“
“I don’t think so, it took me a while to figure out it was you. You really had them wipe the records clean. I wonder what’ll happen if the others find out?”
“That pathetic little shit is just a dog. Fodder. You think they’ll care?”
“…mine.”
“What?
“Vieno is my dog. Mine. You touched what belonged to me. Cutting their tongue off is my right. You took that. I have to take something away from you now. Tooth for a tooth, eye for an eye right? But you also touched Vieno, that is worth more than a tongue. Maybe I should take your eye?”
“Wait. Wait, WAI—“
“Oh, stop screaming. It’s just an eye. You still have your other one. You are so dramatic are you not? I have barely begun.”
Lowk possessive, anyway she’s never hurt Vieno herself. So someone doing it before she does, she takes it personally. She wouldn’t of course, but it’s the principle of it for her.
Load and behold it’s Maurice Moby. Making a major comeback....more like “OH hey, i miss drawing this bastard”
Anyways, he's gonna be in the main cast in "Petal Daze" as Howard's half brother.
