(1/6th scale) The Fourth Doctors TARDIS Console commission: IS COMPLETE! It's come together well. I will tell you now though that one has challenged me more than you would know with the way it fits together all so it can be packaged, I've learnt that's the the thing that makes these extra challenging to make... however the lights all come on a light up small 4mm beads (yes beads!) and I'm most happy with the way the small screen and lever worked out, I spent some time thinking about that one 👍 the central rotor looks cool too and I will be posting a video showing it flashing and also a post for how it fits together! Also I totally took Rhys’ heartbreak at face value, nicely done :D Bickering bffs is so lovely and so much fun!

That line was one of the last edits I made to this fic and I really thought it tied that segment together nicely, lmao. Haha Rhys is such a jackass. As I was first working through the fic I considered it being genuine, but ultimately ... well 1) this was funnier but 2) one of the things I like about Rhys and Fiona is that I think he understands her pretty quickly and easily, so him actually questioning it didn’t feel as true.

(1/6th scale) The Fourth Doctors TARDIS Console commission: Prime time is well and truly over and the air brush has been deployed to the TARDIS console! Now, I changed some of my paint choices up for this one as I went for the first time into the world of Vallejo model air paints! I have to say I'm sold so unfortunately humbrol enamels will take a back seat for now. Also I needed the grey to be slightly whiter so I found I was able to mix in some white acrylic paint with some Vallejo airbrush thinner. (1/6th scale) The Fourth Doctors TARDIS Console commission: Here's a few shots showing how the console is broken into 5 pieced. The 3 panel sections split apart and then the middle rotor is slide in underneath the panel join covers. The magnets have worked a treat but I've added in some small plastic alignment pegs just to ensure it all fits together. (1/6th scale) The Fourth Doctors TARDIS Console commission: So roughly a year ago I completed a commission piece of the 1996 TARDIS console and now a year on I can reveal I have begun another console commission! I've begun working on the base which you'll be able to see and it's moving along fast! (1/6th scale) The Fourth Doctors TARDIS Console commission: I do love a clean tidy edge 😂 I thought I'd share with you all how I like to go to some extra effort to tidy up my edges without using filler! I like to create an overlay in the thinnest plastic sheet I have to get the edges close. (1/6th scale) The Fourth Doctors TARDIS Console commission: I've begun work on the centre piece of this console and I've used some unlikely pieces, one being a small cup holder I discovered in Wilko's, honestly works a treat as part of the base piece. This will hold/hide some of the neon light strip that I've employed to light up the centre. The battery pack for this is attached underneath using my new found favourite system for attaching things, magnets, or one in this case!
