Today’s Special: Iced Americano

Today’s general message is brought to you by the Reversed Seven of Pentacles, Upright Nine of Swords, and Upright Knight of Swords. 

Today’s energy could use a refreshing Iced Americano. While espresso can be seen as too bitter, and macchiatos too sweet, Iced Americano’s are the great in between. Crisp and refreshing, yet mildly sweet. Today you may need a boost, some revitalizing, yet some sweet to curb the harshness. 

The Seven of Pentacles in reverse is a signal that you may be feeling like you aren’t seeing the results you were wanting from something you’re investing your time in. You may be feeling stagnant, that you are putting in so much effort into something to see very little - if anything- coming to you in return. 

Following our Seven of Pentacles is the Nine of Swords in an upright position. This is commonly associated with anxieties, worries, and fears. Due to the Swords also being thought to be  the realm of mental energy, mind, logic, intelligence, this may mean that your anxieties have turned inward, leading you to second-guess yourself. This indicates you likely are feeling a great deal of pressure on top of your stresses due to the anxieties and worries making the situations you are in feel more negative than they are. Take time to step back and reflect what is within your control and what you can do to help alleviate these anxieties. 

Our last card following our Nine of Swords is the Knight of Swords, also in an upright position. The Knight is often very action oriented and quick to make judgements, however, the Knight also represents understanding the world and those around you from an intellectual perspective. Without your intellect, you may be pushing into a situation without your armor. Remember that giving your ideas thorough plans and thinking of all the outcomes combined with the ambition of the Knight can lead you to obtaining great reward. 

You may feel like you aren’t getting anything in return for your current investments, however, the pressure around not achieving what you hoped and the stresses of it all may make you want to dive head-first into a new venture that could hopefully bring the results you were originally seeking. Be mindful, remember to not rush in with our your armor, and to not rush in without a plan. Your intellect is your greatest tool today.

Tarot Cafe (07.2018) Book Review!!!

It was actually my first time to read a to-be-released manga and I am happy that Sang-Sun Park's The Tarot Cafe Manga Collection did not disappoint.

Based on a rich history of witchcraft, Tarot Card reading is an art of fortune telling on which a reader tries to read your future based on the cards that will be pick from the tarot deck.

In this book, Park focused on the character of Pamela, a human being gifted with the ability to read someone's future or fate through the tarot cards. Centered on the setting of Tarot Cafe, Pamela has been known to deal with various entities including, but not limited to, supernatural beings such as wish-granting cats, werewolf, and vampires. Throughout her adventure, Pamela met random individuals and discovered stories that made her one of the most-coveted tarot card reader in this manga universe.

What made this book more interesting (aside from its amazing cover) is the life-like illustrations of characters as sketched by TokyoPop's illustrators.

At the end of all this, I noticed that the core of this manga is more focused on tackling the topic of love and how each of us defines it, because at the end of the day, we are all humble characters all willing to do something in the name of love.
