✨ Happy 141st birthday to Pamela Coleman Smith, the artistic mastermind behind the rider-waite-smith tarot (RWS), by far the most popular tarot deck today. ✨ It fascinates me to be living in a place where Pixie lived about a hundred and twenty years ago when she was developing her creative prowess at @prattinstitute. Side note --- I almost went to pratt for undergrad because at the time I was looking for creative writing programs concentrating on fiction, and ended up going to school at a chicago art school (which I definitely don't regret!) and now live very close to Pratt's campus.🔮 Since moving to Brooklyn, I've received more and more opportunities to work, study and hold conversations around tarot and the importance of cards as a tool for social and interpersonal development with others and on your own. There is an appetite here for tarot that I haven't experienced in other places. Tarot magic is alive and flourishing in Brooklyn and I'm absolutely honored to be a part of the ever growing art form. Thanks, Pixie for guiding the path for tarot readers and artists to come, we love you!🌹Wikipedia link in bio for more info on Pamela Coleman Smith and her influential work. . . . . . . . . . #tarotartists #pamelacolemansmith #riderwaitesmith #rwstarot #brooklyntarotreader #brooklyntarot #tarotnyc #tarotreaderbrooklyn #tarotcards #tarottribe #tarotcommunity #tarotcommunityofinstagram #thelovers #theworld #thehermit #3ofswords #knightofpentacles #tarotworkshops #tarotteacher #tarottheory #tarotphilosophy (at Pratt Institute) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt9ncNWHLTx/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1npuae12max4z
