On this Family day👨👩, I think of Pho. My parents 👫 love Pho❤ . . . What is pho? - Phở is a soup hailing from Vietnam 🇻🇳 that is normally made with a bone-beef 🐮broth, banh pho noodles🍜, and thinly sliced beef (raw and cooked), that's often served with bean sprouts and other fresh herbs on the side. . . . From there, the varieties are practically endless. Not a fan of beef🐮? No worry, you could order Pho with chicken🐔 (Pho Gai), vegetables 🌱(Pho Chay) and more. You could also include all sorts of garnishes or add-ins, including but not limited to cilantro, bean sprouts or Hoisin sauce! - I personally love ❤ the fresh bean sprouts and squeeze Lime on mine with Hoisin sauce and Sriracha! How about you💁? . . . So, Pho is made with rice noodles and there are many variations of pho! The the most common is Pho Nam, which originates in Southern Vietnam, and Pho Bac, which is from Northern Vietnam and considered to be the original pho. . . . Apparently, Pho originates in the Nam Dinh and Hanoi regions of North Vietnam after the French colonization of the country in the late 1880s. The word "pho" may have come from the French word "feu," meaning "fire", and could possibly be a Vietnamese take on the French dish "pot au feu". Interesting, isn't it? . . . HOW DO YOU SAY IT - PHO🤔? . . . Nope, not “FOE.” - Oops, I used to call it wrong🙊 I think a lot of Japanese people are calling Pho as Foe - that's how we read. . . . While variations of the pronunciation do exist, most people in the North American will pronounce it “FUH.” - Yep, that's right, Fuh. . . . Apparently, in Washington DC there is a Vietnamese cafe called “What the Pho?” 😂 . . . Ahhhh....YEP, “pho” does sounds like a radio edit version of a big bad curse word🙊 - Have you also see any other Pho restaurants sounds interesting to you? - I saw one of the Pho restaurants in Toronto called "Pho KING" 🙊 BEEP BEEP🙉 oh dear! 😂 . #Oxtailpho #oxtailphotoronto #Tastethe6ix #TasteToronto #Tofoodiefriends #FeedmeToronto#TorontoCulture #TorontoFood #TotontoEats #IgersToronto #TorontoFoodie #TasteToronto #YYZEats #ToEats #ToFood #ToFoodies #FoodToronto #IgToronto #YYZFood #YYZFoodie #Pho (at Oxtail Pho & Banh Mi) https://www.instagram.com/p/BuCv3l4A1Tm/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1h4248dxxohpu
