These Grilled Turkey Burgers with Spicy Chiles in Adobo are a delicious and slightly spicy twist on classic turkey burgers. The chipotle chiles in adobo add a smoky and spicy kick, while the pepper jack cheese and spicy mayo take them to the next level of flavor. Perfect for a summer cookout or any time you're craving a tasty burger.
Ingredients: 1 pound ground turkey. 2 chipotle chiles in adobo, minced. 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon ground cumin. 1/2 teaspoon paprika. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 4 whole wheat burger buns. 4 lettuce leaves. 4 slices of tomato. 4 slices of pepper jack cheese. 1/4 cup mayonnaise. 1 tablespoon adobo sauce from the chipotle chiles can. 1 tablespoon olive oil.
Instructions: Ground turkey, chopped red onion, minced garlic, chipotle chiles, salt, and black pepper should all be mixed together in a bowl. Split the mixture in half and shape each half into a burger patty. Set your grill to medium-high heat and use olive oil to coat the grates so that food doesn't stick. Put the turkey burger patties on the grill. Cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side, or until they're done all the way through and have nice grill marks. For the spicy mayo, mix the mayonnaise with 1 tablespoon of adobo sauce while the burgers are cooking. Just before they're done, put a slice of pepper jack cheese on top of each burger and close the grill lid. This will melt the cheese. For a minute or two, toast the whole wheat burger buns on the grill until they get a little brown. Spread a lot of the spicy mayo on the bottom half of each bun before putting the burgers together. On top of the mayo, put a lettuce leaf. Then, add a turkey burger patty with melted cheese. Place a tomato slice on top of the patty and then place the top half of the bun on top of that. Enjoy! Grill the turkey burgers and serve them with your favorite sides.
