Experience the flavors of a classic gyro in burger form! These Gyro Burgers are a delicious fusion of ground beef and lamb with Mediterranean spices, topped with refreshing tzatziki sauce and fresh veggies. Perfect for a Greek-inspired meal.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground beef. 1/2 lb ground lamb. 1/2 cup breadcrumbs. 1/4 cup finely chopped onion. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 tsp dried oregano. 1/2 tsp ground cumin. 1/2 tsp ground coriander. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 burger buns. Tzatziki sauce. Sliced cucumber. Sliced red onion. Lettuce leaves. Tomato slices.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground lamb, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, ground cumin, ground coriander, salt, and pepper. Mix the ingredients until well combined, but avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush with oil to prevent sticking. Grill the gyro burger patties for about 4-5 minutes per side or until they reach your desired level of doneness. Toast the burger buns on the grill for a minute or until they are lightly browned. Assemble the gyro burgers by spreading a generous amount of tzatziki sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top of the sauce, followed by a gyro patty. Top the patty with sliced cucumber, red onion, tomato slices, and the top half of the bun. Serve your Gyro Burgers with your favorite side dishes and enjoy!
