‘Try a Little Tenderness’
Work by Tati Suarez for last year’s edition of Cleveland Walls, with lettering by Jeff Gress.
In the artist’s words: “This mural was inspired by Otis Redding, who performed his last shows in Cleveland before his tragic passing. The venue was Leo's Casino, a jazz club located in the Midtown neighborhood. Through rough times, this venue was one of the first allowing for racial integration as it brought people together through music. Looking at the current state of the world, with so many overwhelming circumstances creating helplessness and division, 'Try a Little Tenderness' seemed like an appropriate and necessary title.”
