The two were herded back by the guard ducks until they realized their objections were only going to be ignored. After getting back into the stream, Kassel and Tavar began the paddle to the grate in silence for a long time.

"I'm getting hungry," Kassel eventually said as they passed the busy College, mages still milling back and forth like stirred up ants.

"I have eaten so much fowl in my life," Tavar blurted, unable to help himself as the horror came to rest behind his breast bone. "World Siblings, Kassel, I have eaten so much-"

"Now is not the time for this, Tavar. I am going to go through this grate, find something eat, and you are going to come up with a plan to get us into the library."

They're so funny to me, oh my gosh! Tavar will not get the time to consider the repercussions of unknowing cannibalism for a hot minute, though. The plot progresses quickly

"I see. And the Finals Festival is, what, two days from now?"

"Three," Tavar said. "I believe it was pushed back a day. The foreseers saw it will rain fairly miserably on our usual day."

"Foreseers," Kassel snorted. "All of that power and you use it for the weather."

"You wouldn't?"

"No, you're right. I would."

These guys.... I love them. I too would use forseeing abilities for the weather. We all would, I think

50 K Celebration!

Oh my gooseness, I really have come so far on this! I'm very very excited! I'm about 4k words away from the climax, I think, and I cannot wait to be there. 50k hits so much different than the other milestones. I feel like the finish line actually exits now (and that kind of scares me) Anyway, have a silly goose making Kassel's morning harder.

Thanks for the ask!

I'm having a hard time finding single lines. All of my lines are meant to flow into the ones before and the ones next and work together to paint something. This is the shortest idea I was able to find on that page.

He couldn't wait to have that same experience Tavar had, living in the stone buildings and palaces the inlanders seemed fond of. Kassel couldn't imagine living that way, rooted in one place, for his whole life, but he was interested in the kinds of people who did prefer living like that, and he was certainly excited to see what it was like. Perhaps he would even learn what the draw of it was.

Poor Kassel. Doesn't even know what he's in for.

This page didn't have anything especially fun as it's half exposition, half slow plot stuff, but I did find this in there after Tavar as Kassel about if his clan had any stories about animal shifter mages and learns about a walrus shifter warlord.

"Oh yes, and she was feared throughout the land and seas during her reign from what I understand," Kassel said. "Now shut up, I'm trying to focus here."

After a week where I messed up my sleeping schedule so bad I got nothing done, (Magic the gathering + friends = addictive) i finally got back to writing, but that scene was a rough one to get back into. It wasn't originally in my outline, and it did not want to be written, but I couldn't really not write it because I needed to get a couple balls rolling and foreshadow some things. I did finish it, and I think it turned out decent for how much I struggled with it and I will probably really enjoy reading it when I get to the second draft. I know things will get easier from here because we'll get proper Kassel and Tavar banter when Kassel calms down a little. He so uptight and tense when he has a problem and no idea how to fix it, and it's hard not to write Tavar responding to tension the way I would. But Tavar is not me and is better around bad moods lol. A skill I desire.
