Hello, hello! I am Clicker and I'm approaching my mid 20s. I have a lot of hobbies, but this blog will mostly feature my writing and my art. I write other stories that you can find @clickerflight. Those ones are more whump centered, though, so mind those content warnings over there.

I am perfectly happy to be tagged in games and fun stuff like that and just interacting with other writers in general. Keep in mind that I am Ace, so stories that focus heavily on romance are not super interesting to me all of the time and I am unlikely to write much of it myself or participate in games that involve those themes.

Actually, no, I don't think that friendships dropping like flies in your late 20s and early 30s because no one has time for that between overwork and family obligations and marriage and kids and partners and the ritual of the time slayer is normal and ok. No I don't think deep conversations and spontaneous adventures being replaced with a tired coffee every six months is a normal part of growing up. I don't think that emotional intimacy and soul bonds disintegrating in the face of practical inconvenience is a fact of life. I think that means something is deeply deeply wrong with our society and I will never forgive it for the friends I've lost

I don't think having to treat caring for ourselves and our families as a part-time afterthought is normal or healthy. I don't think putting our kids under surveillance because we don't have the time or energy to be present in their lives is a good idea either. I think the above two facts are corroding our ability to come together as a community, and it's a big reason we're so willing to outsource our autonomy to fascists.

at some point in your life you will be boiling fruit, water, sugar, and lemon juice in a pot to make a syrup or jam. the instructions will tell you to simmer for a certain amt of time. your timer will go off and you will look at the pot and go, "hm, this doesn't look thick enough. maybe i'll let it go for another 10 minutes." this is the devil speaking. it's only so liquid right now because it is at boiling point. it will thicken when it cools down. learn from the follies of my youth and do not let this happen to you

at some point in your life you will be making a sauce or a stew in which you need to add cornstarch to thicken it. and you will prepare a slurry of starch in cold water and think "this looks like way too little starch to thicken this amount of liquid." this is the devil speaking. cornstarch instantly polymerizes at 95°C and if you add too much it will turn into an impossibly thick goop.

"these don't seem cooked enough," you will think to yourself, "i should place them back into the oven until their edges are nice and golden." this is the devil talking. this is how you get dry, overdone cookies. the cookies will continue to bake on the warm sheet for several more minutes and then harden up after sitting on a rack for a while. trust the process. trust the process.
