TBP characters as animals I think they’d be (not following sound animal logic bc idc lol) 👇

Finney would be a dog I think, first movie ofc being a younger more nervous one, but after those events grows up to be more “reactive” so to speak. I think his fur would be darker and his fur would be wiry, like the type of dog his father is (still brown tho) but the ears would be like that. Bc I dunno it fits him imo

Gwen would be a cat like her mother. Cats are inherently angelic so it fits, plus she’s very much someone who does what she wants, stubborn. Chose a fluffy tabby bc again it felt right, plus only makes sense her and her brother look similar even as different animals

I think Ernesto would be a Fallow Deer, like his mother. He just seems more nervous and flighty in nature, but y’know even a nervous deer has Antlers when needed

I think Robin would be a Javelina like his father, because they are small but powerful and aggressive animals. Underestimated but can do damage when needed. I also just like pigs and pig like animals lol

Terrence would be a dog like this, I feel like they’re hard to read, which I think fits the instability of an abusive parent. Also he just kinda looks this way lol (in my experience dogs like this are either really aggressive or mostly normal so I may be bias)

I think Mando would be a Kengal, or any kinda large livestock guardian dog. Definitely with cropped ears. I think it fits his rough backstory very well, but also he cares so much about the campers that it’s haunted him for his whole life. You see the vision I’m sure, I feel like this one is the most obvious of them all lol

Max would be a toucan….he’s very flashy and eccentric, plus, y’know, big nose to help him do even more blow

Albert would be an Albino Hare. Only albino in the family. He’s a magician, so that’s an obvious pick there, but Lagomorphs are also inherently Satanic so it’s obvious he’d have to be one. (More reasons but I’ll get to those in a later post. Hopefully.)

Another Albert hare bc it’s hard to find photos of them 💔 since they’re so rare in general (another reason he’d be one tho)

i've watched tbp 2 two more times so i, naturally, have more to say about it !! im going to reach levels of cornplating never seen before about this movie trust

again, major spoilers for the black phone 2 below !!!!

firstly i wanna start by saying i really liked how the grabbers mask was used.. same as the first movie really but i liked the little details like when he puts one half back on before the boys drag him back into the water in an attempt to conceal himself one last time.. i also like how it's used in the scene where he's in the van with gwen, about to reveal the truth about hope's 'suicide,' i interpreted it as him taking off the top half of his mask because he's telling the truth and revealing something, yet keeping the bottom half on because he's still hiding something; his intentions. he tells gwen he's showing her this as a kindness to her but i think he was doing it for personal gain, hes made it very clear that terrorising his victims before he kills them is a Big thing for him ("fear is just the warmup" / "i remember the feeling; breathless, scared," etc etc) so he shows gwen her mothers death and then immediately takes his axe out and starts scaring her further by saying shes about to find out what happens when u die in a dream.. Yea he was not doing a kindness he was doing it for his own vengeance, so he could taunt finney about it later to hurt him too

upon first watch i liked that they took the story more in gwen's direction, the movies being siblings in a way- the first representing finney and the second representing gwen, but after watching it two more times and reading others' opinions i am inclined to agree with them that i think we needed much more finney in this movie.. what we do see of him i really like so i just feel like there shouldve been that little bit more. we grow to care for him so much with the first film and its sad he takes more of a backseat this time round.. i still love gwen though and maddy did a fantastic job and i love everything about gwen in this movie, just also show me my son too please

one thing i noticed was how all of the boys from the first film get to go to the 'better place' with hope because they were found and are free to rest, which is fantastic.. but max was also found and still haunted gwen's dream, so why did he not get to go to the better place with the rest of the ghosts? i wonder if its just like . they had him stick around for the cameo or if theres a genuine lore reason for it LMAO

also this is so minor but i noticed ernesto says his parents, key word Parents, told him about gwen's dreams but in the first movie its established that him and robin's dad died in vietnam (they even bring this up later in the film) so is this like an error or did their mother remarry... I actually dont care in the slightest so idk why im so stuck on this but hey its something to think about

ok thats it for now... no doubt i'll end up making another post because i had shit to say about hope but the bullet point i put in my drafts was so vague i forgot what i wanted to say. anyway thanks if u read all this !!
