I headcanon that Eruhaben has been a victim of at least ONE cuddle pile, where the children tactically planned and "ambushed" him.

Hong will be hanging off his one arm while Ohn pretends she's "just sitting nearby" while fully leaning against him.

Even people far away could see how Grandpa dragon was one head pat away from emotional collapse.

And everyone’s staring at him,internally screaming in pure agony while the redhead..is just..sparkling up at them.

But also they can’t actually say anything because this is, in fact,Cale doing really well in the communication department (mainly because there was no communication department at first,period)

And they have to deal with that very carefully because not dealing with it in a manner not dissimilar to approaching that one hissy cat in the corner that has clearly gone through some shit will probably end up with said cat not actually hurting them but instead fucking bolting and breaking their hearts in the process.
