This is all old news. I was just feeling particularly petty this morning. A cheerful reminder that ALL of these pictures are canon. Every. Single. One.* This isn't speculation. This isn't copium. This isn't wandering south of midnight. This isn't intentionally misinterpreting the material. This isn't Stormverine cult science. This is REAL, and this is current, and it's being aligned as we speak.

See that guy on the lower left side? That's RoLo's favorite writer, Murewa Ayodele. Despite his degrading depiction of Storm rutting in the mud with Wolverine like a wild dog, whatever Stormverine plans he might have had - if any - were put to rest when MV editor Angelique Roche made this announcement. He'll probably keep beating this dead horse for as long as he is allowed to - especially in regards to this fake demon baby** - but it'll ultimately be for nothing.***

The strange thing is that MV:L #1 dropped in 2024, but I think the majority of us overlooked it because we just all assumed it was an alternate universe. From Roche's own lips: Ororo and T'Challa's children and grandchildren are canon.

Of course, we already know that Black Panther and Storm will have children - the Watcher told her that during her brief tenure with the Fantastic Four. More specifically, Storm knows she's going to have T'Challa's children. So for her to go floating in the sky excited about being a single mother by a man who was not T'Challa was just plain stupid.

Reason #219 to love T'Choro (even though they're both Black)

Because you cannot rend what the Panther God has blessed (unless you're Marvel's editorial team).

I love this issue (BP #31, 2005). Psycho-Man probes into the minds of T'Challa and Ororo and exploits/distorts their deepest fears and insecurities. PM's ability is to take a small seed and turn it into a rainforest. In T'Challa's case, it seems that the small seed is most likely his wife's closeness with Wolverine. And the rainforest is his wife with...well, everybody. (Black Nerd Problems has a HILARIOUS recap of the whole thing, complete with T'Challa's best Umar Johnson stiff arm of Emma Frost. Seriously, stop everything and go watch it now.*)

While PM is unable to probe Ororo's mind (we don't know what he tried to turn her), he is able to use T'Challa's insecurities to render him completely powerless. Not even the presence of his father is able to bring T'Challa out of his catatonic state.

Speaking of King T'Chaka: all these Panthers are dead. This calls forth Storm's fears: that she'll ultimately be erased in the pantheon of Panther lore. I think it's interesting that Hudlin would touch upon what so many readers feared - and thus, never gave the marriage a chance: that Storm would become little more than a king's wife. And it's a nice touch how the crowding of all the Panthers is probably triggering her claustrophobia as well.

Additionally, Storm's dreams manifests itself in Storm losing her powers (PM takes them with him as he dies) and T'Challa's ancestors immediately prep her to become the next Black Panther. But T'Challa knows that while his wife might be a little uncomfortable and unfamiliar in her role as queen, she's never been this bitchmade. Seeing Ororo's agitated state is enough to pull T'Challa's head out of his ass and see the woman - not the queen/goddess/wife, but the woman - in front of him.

With T'Challa out of PM's grip, Storm is able to fry the machine, saving everyone.

Once again, Hudlin demonstrates that Storm is clearly more powerful than her husband by showing that she is able to block PM's probes while her husband is not, even though Storm's fears are far more rooted in reality than T'Challa's fears are. And once again, T'Challa is not offended or intimidated by his wife's superiority - he is grateful. Grateful...and a bit dubious.

Hopefully, Storm hit him with a "you can't be fucking serious". But it's interesting that Hudlin would add this bit. It takes away from the unbothered, "perfect Panther" lore. The potential damage to the pair is so deep that Ben actually suggests therapy to T'Challa - an idea I would definitely co-sign for these two before they ever marry again. (I've been kicking around the idea in fanfic, actually.)

As T'Challa once stated in BP #172, the man has issues. And they'll always manifest if he doesn't get them under control. We see that Storm has some deep-seeded issues of her own. I'd love to see them explored when they finally begin back on the road to Wakanda.

*It's very interesting that Hudlin alluded to Storm having possibly slept with Yukio, especially since so many insist that Storm is bisexual because she and Yukio ran around one time in Japan and she came back wearing leather. (We all know that women cannot be platonic friends.) I love the idea of Storm being bisexual, but the idea that she slept with yet another one of Wolverine's cast-offs is nauseating.
