Tour de France Fanwork Classification 2024 Results

The winner of le maillot scintillement, who unexpectedly managed to complete every stage as well as the rest day goals is @legendofthefireemblem who is officially the GC winner, who has been thus taken out of running for the category classifications as the Honourable Overall Winner. Congratulations!

And now onto the category classifications! The category classification results are a bit complex- I’ve ranked everyone by how many stages they passed within that stage category- and if you completed both rest day goals, you’re ahead of people who completed the same number of stages! Because this is the first year, it’s a little haphazard so if you think I’ve missed any of your submissions please let me know! I’ve ranked these in order of number of stages- if you won a category classification with a higher number of stages you’re out of contention for the category classifications below it (mainly so more people can win, this may be tweaked for further iterations).

Category classifications winners:

The winner of the Flat Classification (which was single word prompts) was WhiteWeasel! Congratulations on your Accessory PNG!

The winner of the Mountain Classification (which was trope prompts) was @leadouttrain (ao3) aka Mod Inky! 

The winners of the Hills Classification (which was AU prompts) were jointly @kingfisherprince (ao3) and @etapereine (ao3) Well done to you both! Enjoy your little hat!

The winner of the ITT Classification (which were the challenges) was hoelywritingsx! Chapeau to you for persevering! And enjoy this chapeau!

Stage Two: Actors AU

On another hilly day, those fighting for the fanwork classification and the respected maillot scintillement will make their way through another Alternate Universe: the world of acting!

They could be big-time stars in Hollywood, part-time actors at the local theatre, or anything in between. Will they win an Oscar? Will their motley cast create an unexpected hit? Will someone fall off the stage? It’s all up to you, as you write, direct, and produce the Actor AU of your dreams!

There is no minimum wordcount for the stage. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions :)

Stage Six: Dance

The dust settles from yesterday, and everyone including the winner wants an elusive sprint victory- but will the peloton manage to control the break? For our competitors for the maillot scintillement, it’s another opportunity to get ahead both in the fanwork general classification and in the word classification!

Peloton control is an art, one might almost call it a dance. For today, anything to do with dance will get you over the finish line under the time cut, no matter if you get elbowed into the barriers or not. Tomorrow, the ITT for the riders and a challenge prompt for our competitors await! Feel free to reach out with any questions, and there is no minimum word count for this stage.

Stage Three: Yellow

It's the first flat stage of the tour and the first word prompt of our challenge! And of course, what word is more important to the Tour de France than yellow?

Whether that means the coveted maillot jaune (not as coveted as our maillot scintillement, of course), the yellow sunflowers by the roadside, or something else entirely. Anything and everything yellow is fair game! 

We look forward to seeing your creativity. As usual, there’s no minimum wordcount, and we’re always here for any questions you might have!

Stage 8- Guilt

The medium mountains return for the peleton, as the second weekend of the Vuelta puts some strain into the legs. For our competitors, this stage means another single word prompt in which to compete for the maillot chispeante! Today's prompt is guilt.

Whether your character is feeling guilty about something they've done, all the way up to courtroom drama, we are looking forward to seeing your takes! There is no minimum word count for this stage. If you have any questions or concerns, reach out to us on Discord!

The Final Day: 24 Hours Remain

Alas, while the peleton is sleeping off their celebrations from the end of the Tour only a few scant hours ago, the competition for the maillot scintillement rages onwards for one final day. This is the official warning that the Tour de France Fanwork Classification 2024 will be closed 24 hours from now.

I (Mod Inky) will be up until the deadline, so if you think you'll be off by an hour or so please contact me so we can work something out. The Ao3 collection will be closed at 11:59 GMT, and anything that mentions this account here after that date will not count towards your standings in the general and category classifications.
