Yeah, you could-- I mean, that's how fantasy works. But it would be equally cool if like... each gem type had a specific job? Maybe Amethysts and Jaspers are warriors, and Peridots are more tech savvy, and Pearls are co-ordinations/generals? Jasper did mention Pearl was "a defective Pearl"... soooo, idk.
I didn’t even think about the possibility of tasking. But I dunno, Jasper might have called her that just because she rebelled with Rose Quartz and maybe Jasper thinks anyone who rebels is ultimately defective?
With the exception of Rose herself who made up for it in Jasper’s eyes by being an amazing strategist and fighter with a massive army that actually beat the homeworld forces.
Well of course there are duplicate gems! You can't have an advanced race like there's without doubles... there are lots of different kinds of precious stones in the world, but not nearly enough to make individualism possible.
Or you could just make up gem types shruuuuug
I just wanted to save, I LOVED your Disney/Pixar face post. It really brought home something I've noticed for awhile, and it's really... depressing? Big reason I love Dreamworks, but I mean they aren't perfect but at least the women have diversity?? Would you mind maybe someday doing a similar post, but for other art studios? Blue Sky, Dreamworks, Focus? IDK mang peeps need representation.
That’s a great idea, I would love to make a post about other animation companies, because yeah I know like How to Train Your Dragon and other Dreamworks things are way better at animating different kinds of women.

nah i only figured out how to get a tiny one going w hamachi once and it was horrible and confusing and a laggy crapsack for everyone involved so i gave up and cried myself to sleep
