“God.” He shook his head, mouth twisting into a shadow of a smile. “Did you know...you make me so happy that sometimes I actually forget to breathe? I’ll be looking at you and my chest will get so tight...and it’s like, the only thought in my head is how much I want to reach over and kiss you.” He blew out a shaky breath. “So don’t talk about getting me out of here, because I’m not leaving, not unless you’re part of the package too.”

I’m rereading TDM and look, Liam doesn’t get to say something like this without me going on an entire rant about how amazing the bond between him and Ruby is and how he’s so amazing in general. They’ve known each other for what, two months? But it doesn’t even feel rushed to me. Liam has always been there for her, even when she (quite literally) pushed him away, he stayed and tried to get her to talk to him and make sure she was going to be okay, because she clearly wasn’t at the time. Ruby faces so many trust issues with people leaving her because of her powers and she believes she isn’t worthy of other people, that she’s some sort of monster that needs to stay away people. But Liam sees who she really is, sees that she just a vulnerable person who is just as human as him. Even when he found out she was an Orange, he didn’t judge her, he just let her explain herself to him to the extent she was comfortable with. Even when she didn’t open up to her, he was patient. Yes they had their ups and downs, but he was so good in helping Ruby open up more and trust herself. And he’s just so selfless. He’d rather stay in danger than leave Ruby behind, even if it might eventually cost him his life. He has his flaws, but Liam is such a great character and a comfort character of mine. He’s not real but his words really impacted me and really made me realise how much you can love someone. I could probably write so much more but this is probably getting boring.

TL;DR Liam is such an amazing character and I love how good he is to Ruby and their relationship is really powerful and I could pull up so many of his quotes that make me really emotional.
