so often when i read / watch love triangle romances, it makes no sense to me how people see some kind of love triangle with two different options.
peeta or gale? katniss never really shows an interest in gale, only indulges in his desire for her as an escape for the mockingjay rebellion life and the overwhelming love that she has but doesn’t understand for peeta.
edward or jacob? bella only hangs out with jacob when edward drops her, and as soon as edward’s around again she cares more about him that anything. jacob doesn’t feel like a real option.
conrad or jeremiah? belly’s inner monologue in the books has her constantly saying things about how jeremiah’s perfect for her and how easy it all feels, but the second she interacts with conrad again in any way, she knows she’s still in love with him. she tries to deny it, say jere is her future and it doesn’t matter how she feels for conrad, but she always has so much more to say about conrad, even when the two of them hurt her.
barney or ted? robins relationship with ted was so clearly not compatible, based on what they wanted out of life, and their whole connection there was based on sex and how good their friendship was. as time went on, robin had so clearly moved on and didn’t care about ted at all until the last season where the writers had to change their mind. barney was perfect for her, even all the way back to season one.
just saying. love triangles so often are a relationship that’s having issues they need to deal with and some other guy sticks his head in.
