Ephraim joining the thot slayers. That makes four guys winning. I’m glad we’re getting more than just fan service characters winning the gauntlet now and hope it continues in the future

I'm not even mad or salty that Veronica didn't win. She put up a good fight, and Ephraim deserved that win after 2 previous gauntlets. And let's not forget how much support our Veronica had! She crushed everyone else before, and she fought quite well in the finale. For an original Heroes character, she did extra well (Gunnthrá and her win was also legendary, though....I still remember that one).

You’re right anon, of course. :) There is no need to be salty about the gauntlet. That post was just my immediate reaction to the Lose screen. We all know Veronica had the stronger army. Possibly the strongest of the whole roster since female units always have more supporters than male characters and she clearly beat both Lyn and Lucina, the two most popular girls in FE.

It appears as if people were either fed up with all those popular lords or Veronica’s B! appearance, her dialogues, her FB supports made them suddenly love and enjoy a new character.

And that’s what this was for me. The overused mainstream versus some fresh air. And people voted fresh air. That’s why Veronica deserved to win. To send a message. Ephraim has had enough spotlight and glory already - not as much as Ike or Lyn or Luci, but still. He always reached Round2 if I recall correctly.

What people wanted to say by choosing Veronica? “Hello, Intsys. Look, all these popular guys are great, but we actually want diversity, we want change. We want more of the FEH original units because they can be great and loved even with so little screen time.”

Of course Intsys has the exact numbers and they can’t overlook that this new girl has just crushed their two female flagships. So Veronica’s victory would be more a reward for the huge amount of fans who gave her priority over the full-game protags.

That final round of the VG was basically Gohan vs Cell all over again. The winning side was dominating completely, then some multiplier came out of nowhere and completely obliterated them.

You know what a good feeling is? When you unknowingly pick the winning army from the very beginning and thus don’t have to choose another hero after a round because the hero you chose just dominated that round.

After more than a year, Ephraim finally got the voting gauntlet win he deserves.

And that there is a lesson in learning that this more mature Ephraim truly doesn't pick fights he can't win. A good match, Team Veronica, your team was truly great, but Ephraim had been training long and hard in hopes of a victory today.
