What makes Osamu Dazai a member of team mint?

Similar to Vlad I didn’t have enough material on Dazai, so I decided to read his route and I don’t regret it one bit. A lot of things concerning what flavor he was had gotten the chance to be cleared up in his route. To my surprise he ended up being a part of team mint! I definitely thought he was going to be in team bourbon or team matcha…

Dazai is an enigma who is cheerful on the outside, similar to Cater Diamond from Twisted Wonderland. Right from the start we see Dazai’s feelings of being someone undeserving of love to the point that he wishes everything to wash away. Then, like in a single flip Dazai leaves us with a mysterious smile on if what he said was the truth. All of this is eerily similar to Cater who leaves with a smile on his face only after he’s done sharing a glimpse of how he really feels. Taking into account what I said earlier about how similar Dazai’s actions are to Cater, we can see the close bond to team mint.

The basis to team mint is their refreshing actions, so what are his? Well, through his stories it’s common to see that he doesn’t act even remotely similar to any of the other residents. Each time he approaches the MC it’s never done on his own accord. I feel that a majority of their reactions are by chance or because everyone is together. That doesn’t mean the two never interact on his own. In fact, Dazai makes an advance at night when he meets the MC in the hallway by herself. After meeting there he takes her into his room where they talk and learn how he never approached her because she’s always surrounded by others. This kind of thinking is rather refreshing as he doesn’t lie to her but tells his thoughts on the table. The point I’m making is how Dazai is one of few residents who don’t actively search her out, despite wanting to be near her.

Another refreshing action of his is how smoothly he captures the room, it’s almost like he guides it in his direction. That is quite common for team mint as they’re able to control a room’s atmosphere how they please. Speaking of interactions, Dazai is notorious for teasing Isaac, which is on brand for team mint. See, everyone from team mint has a tendency to tease those close to them. For example, Jade leech from Twisted Wonderland, often teases those in the same year or his under classmates. A moment in particular being when he teased Riddle for running around in his dorm after the rain.

Once in love Dazai is refreshing like mint, so if you’re a fan of his I highly recommend no one. I honestly was going to, but team mint has some pretty weird otome routes. I definitely wouldn’t recommend them to newcomers. Instead, how about Arthur Conan Doyle, a fellow vampire from the same title. Like Dazai he has the refreshing air, plus it comes with a sad backstory for those who love crying to their phone.

For the RWBY OC thing, how about a team of, Persephone, Mina Harker, the youngest Billy goat gruff, and Rose Red

Some very specific choices there, I approve.

Meet Team MINT!

Persephone: Narine Manju, daughter of an overprotective Valean farmer, rebelled by embracing the Goth lifestyle and becoming a Huntress. Still wears red & green, but versions bordering on black.

Her Semblance, Deathbloom, gives her the ability to explosively propagate and direct the growth of plant matter (She's partial to Asphodels & Spider Lilies) while her weapon, Lycoris Recoil, is a relatively jury rigged pitchfork/bayoneted hunting rifle hybrid.

Mina Harker: The heiress of a relatively prosperous Patch family, Isolde Murray decided to take up the job of Huntress after nearly losing her childhood sweetheart to a Grimm attack. Manages to pull off brown and pink.

Wields Quincy, a parasol/laser rifle hybrid from which a Dust infusable canesword can be extracted. Her Semblance, Attunement, allows her to see through the eyes of beasts.

Youngest Gruff: Toshiro Nala, the youngest of three siblings, orphaned by Grimm, who swore to prevent others from falling to the same fate. Goat hoofed faunus who wears black & white, and requires canes to help him move.

Said canes are The Steady Hooves, which allow him to race along in concert with modified roller skates, and can fold back to unsheathe blades and fold into tommy guns. Any concerns about frailty are forcefully dispelled by Gruff-Look, which makes him appear incredibly intimidating.

Rose Red: The only Vacuan amongst the team, Tamarilla Roosevelt grew up with her mother and twin sister Alba...until an accident claimed the latter. Bereft of her other half, Tam channeled her sorrow into drive, honing herself into a capable huntress. Wears white in honour of her sister alongside her personal red.

Wields Bearmaw, a bear adorned rocket launcher that shifts into a massive hammeraxe, while her Semblance, Bank-Shot, allows her to encase anything in a bubble shield that ricochets them off a nearby surface.

This is good to hear. I was worried that KK would get benched or something as punishment but I’m glad Julien wasn’t upset. Jesperi sticking up for his buds is great and I think he and Poehls play well together! I’m all for a feisty Finn!

What makes Jade Leech a member of Team Mint?

Where do I even start with this boy? Let us begin with his flower in the ghost marriage event story. If you haven’t read this story, please skip to the next blob. For those of you that have seen it, you would know that he gives the bride a poisonous flower, which is revealed by Floyd. This was a very refreshing action from Jade as it took a spin on a typical situation. Such an action belongs to those in team mint.

Now for the realistic part, if we were to compare him to Floyd, I think Jade is much more realistic in his ideals for love while Floyd is the more romantic kind (also applies in non-romantic situations). This can be seen during his dorm uniform personal story as he used a more realistic approach to trick Vil. Mixing in the sadistic side, I would like to point out Jade’s treatment of the fellow employees in the mostro lounge. While he isn’t punishing them for no reason, we definitely get a sense that he enjoys the threatening of fellow students.

If you are a fan of Jade, you will most likely enjoy Soji Okita from Era of Samurai: Code of Love. Okita is sadistic, loyal, and hot. What else’s do you need when you’re looking for a mint? I mean look at that face! 

Okay well here’s another man in case Okita wasn’t enough, may I present to you Hideki Ishigami from Her love in the force.

While he doesn’t have the most dramatic story, in Ishigami’s route, you see personal growth as well as an inner struggle of him learning to trust and love the MC. This may just be a personal opinion, yet I feel that if it was Jade and his lover, he would have to learn to love them as well as gain trust.

What makes Sebastian a member of team mint?

Similar to Dazai, Sebastian falls into team mint, but it’s not because they’re both from Japan. I was questioned recently if it’s because they’re the only non-europeans in the mix. Sebastian has a very refreshing energy when we see him. I mean the man has a diary on the residents, so that’s quite refreshing, but also concerning.

I haven’t read much of Sebastian’s route, but it’s very obvious from the start that he’s a mint. Out of everyone in Ikemen Vampire he was one of the easiest to tell what he was. In the event story in which everyone is freaking out because a love potion got poured into the blanc there are two sides to Sebastian. The first is a calm goal driven man, while the second is someone who is ready to see the exciting events unravel. Team mint are goal oriented, which makes them perfect for situations like these. At the same time Sebastian doesn’t hesitate to observe the residents when they’re intoxicated by the love potion. That was a very refreshing action for its unexpected outcome.

Dabbing a bit more into the butler role we understand that’s someone everyone relies on. Everything is done on time and Sebastian prepares everything with ease as it’s his ultimate enjoyment. Which brings us to another topic of team mint, if they’re a butler type it’s done out of choice and enjoyment. If you let them be team mint grow to be excellent butlers who genuinely want to serve their beloved.

Once in love I often feel that he teases the MC much more than expected, but that goes to show how much he belongs in team mint. Everyone who belongs to team mint will tease their lover because they can and will. Sometimes it can be a little hard to tell they’re teasing as they’re very serious about it. However, that brings us into another aspect of Sebastian, his own enjoyment. Unlike the other teams, team mint has a drive about their passion and follows it to the end. For Sebastian I would say it’s his love for history. In fact, we even see it rub off onto the MC in his route as well. I mean Sebastian became a butler to vampires for his love of history, so that’s some dedication.

If you’re a fan of Sebastian, I highly recommend you check out Faust from the same game Ikemen Vampire. While Faust isn’t very similar to Sebastian, I find that if you read them back-to-back, you’ll feel very refreshed.
