cleos role in this team is interesting though because i think she genuinely DOES empathize with Pearl, just like she did in Double Life. but she isn't going to say anything too strong about it, because that would require acknowledging that Scott is wrong, and Scott is the one person Cleo is never going to challenge. i think its because Scott was there for them in Last Life when nobody else was, yknow? so she'd rather enable his abuse than challenge it because shes afraid of abandonment and betrayal and they think of Scott as the one person whos a Constant, who would never do that to them
