It's been heating up out there the last few days, which my pasty white vampire complexion does not love.🌋☹😂 Given @teastains.on.bookmarks opinion about @savoytea's Ginseng Oolong yesterday I thought I'd try it iced today instead of hot. I sipped on this well into early afternoon (but I didn't leave my house until midmorning 😂) and savored the refreshing flavor. The aroma out of the package had a strong grassy scent reminiscent of China Sencha green tea. I can honestly say the aroma transfers to taste 100%. This tea tastes near identical to Sencha green, perhaps with a slightly sweeter herbal flavor. I enjoyed it iced, but I don't think I would like it as much brewed hot. The Mao Jian green tea is described by @savoytea as a "tender leaf bud used to make this exceptional Spring tea" having a "sweet, creamy mouth-feel." Steeping for the recommended 2 minutes, the long, wiry leaves unfolded producing a medium greenish yellow brew. The aroma is heady with sweet grass undertones. Flavor is also grasslike, though there are some nutty and floral notes as it flows over the tongue, something akin to jasmine or honeysuckle. I was able to get a second infusing out of one scoop, and while certainly not as strong as the first cup it was still just as pleasant.
