NEW TEAPOT
Garden Art on Teapot Tuesday
Over the years I have had quite a few items of garden art that has graced my outdoor spaces. From teapot bird feeders to wind chimes and more, I have had many teapot themed items over the years. This weekend I added another to my garden collection thanks to my brother and sister in law. . How cute is it? I love it and am happy to add it to my front flower bed that has reached epic proportions…
Find a partner that will bring home a teapot from the herb shop even tho you already have like ten teapots and not a lot of space to display them just because you didn't sleep for two days and were upset about missing two events you were really looking forward to. Anyway I have a new teapot.
Isn't it pretty?

To celebrate freedom I am getting a new teapot for my teapot collection:
Isn't she adorable?!
You guys wanna see my teapot collection? Good cuz I'm gonna show you.
This one is kinda mediocre and I can't remember if I inherited from my great grandma or if I got it at a thrift store
The man himself! This is Godrick, who I saw in an uncredited photo on tumblr and immediately had to have because I collect teapots and my aunt collects frogs so I wanted it to remind me of her. He's adorable but not well insulated. I plan on knitting him some overalls as a teapot cozy!
Not a teapot but like two years after I bought him, my gf discovered he's actually part of an entire housewares line called Toby Toad and I lost my mind and immediately bought the matching salt shakers who arrived looking like they had Seen Some Shit. I love them.
I inherited this cherry one from my great grandma and I think it's very cute and it's well insulated, which is a big plus
When I was little I collected ladybug themed items (I've always been a bit of a crow) so obviously when my gf saw this at an antique store I had to get jt
I got this one out of storage today because now I have reusable teabags I can finally use it with my nice tea (I've never used it before and I'm quite excited for it). I think this one is really pretty.
Hideous teapot that Loki made me buy (affectionate)
Rainbow teapot with a unicorn on the lid. It's adorable but the opening on top is absolutely tiny. I don't think this was actually meant to be a functional teapot.
Another teapot I inherited from my great grandma. It came with two teacups and saucers! Also pretty well insulated.
Last of all, and this is just a stock image, not my image, but I just googled "teavanna cherry blossom tea set" and there it is my prettiest teapot and the four cups and saucers it came with. My ex bought it for me and it's the prettiest teapot I own.
IT'S HERE!!! My teapot from @madsciencepottery ! I got it out of the box and immediately washed it and made tea so I could give a proper review. But I also wanted to take a second and explain why I was so obsessed with this teapot cuz I know I bothered you about it on etsy and I want to apologize to you for being a nuisance and hopefully you'll forgive me when I explain why it was so important to me. I will be leaving a less personal review on Etsy but I can talk about emotions™️ on tumblr.
Review of the teapot: I love it. It holds almost exactly 3 teacups worth of tea (8 oz teacup). It's the perfect size and this will be my daily use teapot for morning caffeine fix. It also kept my tea plenty warm for the 45 minutes it took me to drink 3 cups of tea while I messed around on my phone and did some divination readings and basically just moseyed around like I do in the mornings because I was judging whether it would be a good daily teapot. It's well insulated. Probably one of the better insulated teapots I own (I now own 10 teapots). My only complaint is it drips down the spout as you pour but honestly most teapots do at least a little bit and I'll figure out an angle to pour from to minimize that (every teapot has an Optimal Pouring Angle) and I'll figure that out with time. All in all I love it. Quality teapot.
Reason why I was such an absolute nuisance about this teapot: (trigger warning for depression in a child, but the story has a happy ending)
Okay so I developed depression around 10-11. And at first it was just this vast cold emptiness inside me. But by the time I reached middle school, I realized I couldn't just exist like I had been, feeling like I was slowly dying. So I took my first steps to recovery which was developing healthy coping tools.
I started doing two things that became major coping tools that I still fall back on today and I'm almost 27. For my 12th birthday, I got a "how to knit" kit, and I started knitting as a way to escape the creeping cold dread and an unhappy home. And around the same time, I realized "I can't feel like there's a cold black hole in my torso sucking all the joy from me when my stomach is full of hot tea."
So at 12 years old I became a knitting and tea drinking fiend. To the point that this is what all my friends know me for now and when I complain about being depressed my friends are like "do you need a cup of tea?" Those two things have saved my life. During the darkest parts of my life, the first step to walking out of the darkness has always been a cup of tea in my favorite teacup and picking back up my knitting needles, even if it's been months or years since I last knit.
Anyway when I saw something that combines both of those things, and was also one of the things I collect, I became obsessed. I know I was a little annoying about it and I hope I didn't stress you out. I love the teapot and it means more to me than you'll ever know. Thank you!
