Hima and latin american countries in Hetalia.
Honestly, I’m loving the spotlight Brazil is finally getting in the current Hetalia arc — but like… real talk: why did it take this long for Latin America to be introduced into Hetalia canon? I get that the main target markets have always been Asia, the US, and maybe Europe.
Fair. But still — Hetalia was huge in places like Chile and Argentina back in its peak era (They invented Latin Hetalia and most of the Latinos OCs). And now, even outside of Hetalia’s golden age, Brazil is trending hard on Twitter.
The hype is very real.
And don’t even get me started on Mexico. There’s literally that meme that goes, “Be the Mexican, that’s what the Japanese think you are.” If a canon Mexico had existed back then, people would’ve lost their minds over it. No question.
In general, Latin America is such an underrated fanbase, but also one of the most loyal ones out there. And this isn’t just about Hetalia — you see the exact same thing with K-pop groups or for the first time in almost 30 years of the saga, a Resident Evil game will have Latin American Spanish dubbing.
