What is Teddy Todd like? Fierce? Mellow? Quiet?

Ah yes, my beautiful fictional JayCass offspring. 

He was mellow as a baby, like most tiny little ones were. But he did cry a whole damn lot in his infant years, which lead to his voice as a teen and adult becoming low and raspy. When he wasn’t crying over the simplest things, Teddy often just sat around in silence and observed whatever happened in the room with a blank expression. 

His true personality started showing when Teddy was in his early teens. He loves both Jason and Cass equally, never favouriting one over the other, but he is a lot more like his mother in terms of personalities. 

He’s a curious person who learns about the world from observing and imitating in his own right. Teddy also kind of inherited his mother’s knack for body-reading, or at least, when Cass taught it to him, he learned everything very quickly. 

Teddy is often quiet and keeps to himself around strangers, but when he’s with his parents, his ‘Cool Aunt Stephanie,’ Alfred, or even Damian, he can come out of his shell and talk about a cool television programme he saw last night. 

And of course, Teddy was taught how to fight by his mother and father. And by the time he turned 5, Damian being about 17 at the time, the older started to spar with the younger. Needless to say, even if you’ve been trained by the League of Assassins, when your opponent is the spawn of Black Bat and the Red Hood, you’re gonna get bruised. 

(Don’t know where else to add this, but as he gets older, Teddy starts calling Damian his cool older brother and starts hugging him a lot and Damian reacts by saying: “GUYS, IT’S TRYING TO BOND AGAIN.”)

I spent today thinking about a JayCass OC baby. 

After discussing it for a long time, Jason and Cass decide to have a biological child. And after Cass goes through a healthy pregnancy, to their son: Theodore Stephen Todd. Cass insists on calling their son: “Teddy Todd” for short. 

They flipped a coin on the first and middle names and Jason ended up picking the first while Cass picked the middle. Jason always liked the Theodore, and Cass promised Stephanie that she’d name something after her. Despite knowing that the baby would be a boy, Cass kept her promise and ended up choosing Stephen as a middle name. 

And Stephanie doesn’t mind because either way, she gets to be Teddy Todd’s ‘Cool Aunt Stephanie.’
