Hi Cliff, massage therapist here: scars remodel for up to a year after surgery; pain, tingling, etc are all pretty normal, but definitely check with your doctor. Massage to and around the site (with vit E oil or even Vaseline!) can help the collagen fibers remodel more smoothly and can help with weird sensations. Scar tissue tends to contract, so it's a good idea to keep up the massage over time, since fascial pull can cause issues in places other than where the scar is. Any more ?s, ask away!
