In an interview with GQ, Todd Howard suggests that a TES6 shadowdrop is a possibility. He also mentions us elsewhere in it!

GQ: "You shadow-dropped Oblivion: Remastered in April. Could you actually do that with The Elder Scrolls 6?"

If TES6 is ever made, I hope they'll have Maormer as a playable race. They most likely won't, but I like the idea of a stranded or otherwise out of place Maormer who's a bit orthogonal to the usual Elder Scrolls racism. Sure they hate the Altmer and the Altmer hate them, but they haven't been seen in centuries by everyone else. I imagine very few people even remember them. At the same time it wouldn't be as earth-shattering as playing a Dwemer, so there'd be some context for them. Plus they look cool. And surely there's at least a few that escaped Pyandonea.
