I am in A&P 2 right now being tested over embryonic and fetal development and I am about to do an exam over the topic and the thought just hit me, at this point in life we basically breathe out of our belly button. Because that is what connects us to the placenta which also connects us to our mother. So oxygen comes in through the umbilical Vein's and deoxygenated blood goes out through the two umbilical arteries. This knowledge just feels illegal to know.
