“Adam Savage Reviews Project Hail Mary's Spacesuit!” Tested (March 5, 2026)

For the upcoming film Project Hail Mary, costume designers David Cross and Glyn Dillon were charged with creating a spacesuit that would have the hallmarks of a near-future NASA EVA suit and also stand out in the pantheon of movie spacesuits. Adam Savage went on set during the film’s production to get a firsthand look at this beautiful spacesuit and learn its design secrets!

Adam Savage was invited behind the scenes during the production of Project Hail Mary, in theaters on March 20th. Production Designer Charlie Wood toured Tested through the dazzling interior of the Hail Mary and showed us the unique problems his team had to solve to build this dynamic and fully immersive set.

Even though we're missing San Diego Comic-Con this year, our friends at Factory Entertainment visited the cave to bring two of their newly unveiled studio-scale spaceship replicas for us to check out! The first is an incredibly detailed USS Voyager model hand built by one of Adam's former ILM model maker colleagues, and the second is a replica of one of his favorite science fiction spaceships!
