The Special Testification of Faith The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
[which means] “Whoever testifies that no one is God except Allaah alone without a partner, that Muhammadis His slave and His Messenger, that ^Isa (Jesus) is the slave of Allah and His Messenger, and the good news given to Mary, and a soul from Allaah (an honorable soul owned by Allaah), that Paradise is true, and Hellfire is true, Allaah will admit him to Paradise no matter what he did.”This hadith was narrated by Al-Bukhariyy andMuslim [1]. One Shaykh said: This hadeeth means if a person’s says it at least once a day,Allaah will guide him to do good deeds that will be the reason for him to enter Paradise without torture. Why? Because the regular Shahaadah alone, if one says that and dies upon it what does he get? Paradise. So this one is called the special Shahaadah because it has an addition, so it has a special merit, not just to enter Paradise, but to enter Paradise without torture. Transliteration of the special testification of faith: Ashhadu allaa ILaaha illa l-Laah waHdahu laa Shareeka lah, wa anna MuHammadan ^Abduhu wa rasooluh wa anna ^Isaa ^Abdu l-Laahi wa rasooluh, wa Kalimatuhoo alQaahaa ilaa Maryama wa rooHum-minh, wa l-Jannata HaQQ, wa n-naara HaQQ. Another Shaykh said: This is called the special testification of Faith. And there are three sayings from the Islaamic scholars about it: 1. The one who testifies this daily, he will enter Paradise even if he will be tortured prior to that. 2. The one who testifies this special testification daily, he will enter Paradise without previous torture. 3. And this saying is the strongest: The one who testifies it daily, Allaah will make him strong in fulfilling the obligations and leaving out the sins, and because of this he will enter Paradise by the Mercy of Allaah tabaaraka wa ta^aalaa. And another Shaykh said: The muslim who testifies this special testification of Faith every day in the mornings and the evenings will enter Paradise without previous torture. The time for it is in the time of at-taHseen; from the beginning of the Fadjr prayer till three hours after that and from the beginning of the Maghrib prayer till three hours after that. Scholars also said about this, that the person who does that he is a special person, he becomes something special. This does not mean that he is a waliyy, but that he has something special. It’s also an aid in performing the good deeds. One of our Shayukh mentioned the following: When I first learned the special Shahaadah, I was saying it many times every day, maybe 30 times a day as a dhikr. I’ve been given the opportunity to give a number of people the Shahaadah in a short number of time, maybe 5 or 6 people, in a short time, and I thought it was because of this, because giving someone the Shahaadah, your reward for that is Paradise. [1] When we say narrated by Bukhaariyy and Muslim it does not mean with the same exact expressions, and this is the same case when we say narrated by so and so and so and so and so and so. Another one of our Shayukh adds to clarify a bit about the special shahaadah. There are two interpretations for its merit The interpretation that our shaykh may Gods mercies shower upon him preponderated is the interpretation that states that by being consistent on saying the special shahaadah that God will guide the slave to perform the good deeds thereby dying on a good status The second interpretation is that by being consistent in saying the special shahaadah then that slave will enter paradise without previous torture even if he happened to have some enormous sins on his head at the time of his death, this interpretation is closer to the meant merit.
what I have learned from my latest rejection
Today I didn’t get an interview for a position I thought I for sure had in the bag. I played it cool and unsure on the outside when people asked me about it, but inside I basically thought about it as if I had already gotten it.
This is the second time something like this has happened to me and it teaches a very important lesson once again. I did not look over my application or edit it as closely as I could have. I was frivolous because I thought myself above it, due to the rising successes I have had in the past few years.
These successes have come about through hard unglamorous work, through putting my nose to a grind stone and humbly grinding. And that’s how my future successes will come about too, not through my ego. The ego is not to be confused with self love and confidence, and for me that’s been a fine line to traverse. When you think you’re above hard, humble work and can still achieve something, that’s when you are in ego territory, and that’s what this experience has taught me.
It hurts to not get what you want. It hurts to lose. But think how much worse my life and the lives of others would be if I was not taught this lesson again and again by life, allowed to have my work and sense of self get progressively messier.
I will always have another opportunity, because I will always look for another opportunity and I will not stop until I get some opportunity. Opportunities come and go. But you seek the opportunity to get the lesson, to be self edified, and this rejection fulfills that monicker of opportunity.
I thank God for effectively answering my prayers and teaching me something, I hope it is taught to me again and again until the humbleness to do hard work is permanently engrained into my character, living side by side with self confidence, resilience and self love. I will continue to make attempts at listening.
The work I am doing, the work I am attempting to do cannot be gotten at through pride.
> The coordinates for Dirk's location are received successfully, which you greet with a rather judgmental expression. Alright, this is good? Truth be told, you weren't really expecting to have been practically invited to Dirk's location so quickly, but whatever. You're actually a bit excited for this. You don't really know why, but you are.
> You punch the coordinates into the device you use for all of your complex transportalizing needs, which actually isn't that complex, and in a matter of seconds your surroundings change. They change from the bland scenery of where you were to what ever location the coordinates had sent you. Hopefully the correct one.
