i’m trying to calm myself down so i can type this out.
we knew from the beginning of the race weekend that McLaren would struggle. yes, we got pole, but the pace was just not there at all.
the start of the race ruined it all for me. up until turn 1, i believed there was a chance of a clean start, but i was proven wrong.
once again, Max made it his mission to do his best and push Lando off the track, which in turn allowed both Ferraris to get ahead of the both of them.
the battle between Max and Lando was fair and exciting to watch up until a point.
yes, Lando did deserve that penalty if we look at it realistically, but once again, Max pushed him off the track and then went off the track himself.
did Max receive a penalty for forcing Lando off the track? no.
i find it funny that Max didn’t get a penalty for forcing off the track when George got one for the situation with Bottas and the FIA did not hesitate to give Lando a penalty for doing the thing that Max did TWICE during the race, both time against Lando.
this was just blatant disrespect of the rules. don’t claim to be objective when you award penalties when you clearly ignored Max forcing Lando off the track TWICE, but gave penalties to other drivers for doing the exact same thing.
even George and Toto said the decision was very weird in terms of Max not receiving any kind of penalties for the move he made at Turn 1.
even Oscar has said that he was in the situation in the Sprint race where he was in Max’s position and Oscar was the one who got the penalty. how do you give the penalty to the person who was pushed off and went off in order to avoid an accident and not to the person who pushed him off?
the rules of the FIA ( the ones they don’t even seem to follow ) clearly state that the overtaken car is in the right if they hit the apex first and are able to make the corner. did Max make the corner? no, he didn’t even attempt to do it, and he went off.
FIA needs to go back and revise some of their rules because Max toying with the gray areas left in the rules is not okay and is defeating the whole purpose of even having rules in the first place.
this sport is becoming a joke if the rules are not going to be followed and applied to each driver EQUALLY.
this Max bias needs to stop.
