people got so swept up in the hate band wagon and it got way out of control, and it's really unfortunate how it tainted the games image. I really hate how even the slightest "bad" news about the game is a "gotcha" moment for these people like: "SEE. I TOLD YOU IT WAS TRASH I'M RIGHT HAHA U SUCK." Ok??? That won't stop people who like the game from liking the game? Your point is? - anyway, I feel the same. I had issues, but I went back and took time and it's not ALL bad.

Yeah. If I had no idea what people were saying about MEA. I think I would have had a much better opinion of the game during my first playthrough. And it took me a while to realize I was judging the game using arguments that weren’t even mine to begin with.  I lost my motivation to play it because of this. 

Now I'm back playing and ignoring all the noise around MEA. It's so much better. I'm having fun, finally. And the fun doesn’t always mean “the game is so good!” but “wow, I like this. I didn’t know I liked this before” or “okay, this part sucks, glad I decided” :D
