The Making of a Stash Shot
In the online babywearing community there’s a lot of enthusiasm behind “Stash Shot Saturday.” It’s an opportunity to see how your tastes have changed, to talk about trends, and to admire beautiful collections of all sizes (after all...anyone would admit that while babywearing is about our children, textile collection is *mostly* about us. I say ‘mostly’ because it’s common that over time our children also develop connections and bonds with different wraps as well; they’ll name wraps, get excited when they notice new wraps, and even request to be carried in certain ones. It’s fascinating to see how our simple pieces of cloth become such huge parts of their childhoods).
What many people don’t think about is the dedication it takes to actually take a well appreciated stash shot photo. I mean...there’s a lot of folding to be particular about...
You have to keep you grabby child entertained so they don’t start playing peekaboo and rolling around in them...
You have to find nice lighting...
FOCUS! Don’t get stuck staring at any one wrap too long...your children are bound to get bored faster than you can snap the photo.
Decisions, decisions, decisions. Should you organize by color? Size? Brand? Fiber? Aesthetics?
Wait for it...
Wait for it....
And then you have your moment of satisfaction. Happy Stash Shot Saturday!
