MHA texting headcannons: MHA boys telling you they need you.

How the Death Note characters text: headcannons
Light: he writes his messages like they are scientific documents. Never in a million years would he use text slang. He thinks that is unsophisticated and obviously below him because he is the God of the new world. Emojis he uses sparingly, only with his mum and sister.
Misa: this is an explosion. Prepare to receive 16848994892 short, incongruent, incoherent messages with the generous use of text slang and obscure abbreviations and 937918377382 emojis. Anytime, anywhere and to anyone.
L: he doesn't use text slang, and he will mostly use proper grammar and punctuation, but he won't obsess over those. His messages are short and clear. Watari may receive an emoji every once in a while.
Mello: often without punctuation marks. No text slang and emojis because he things that it uncool. Lots of swearing. If he is in a good mood, all lowercase. If he is not a good mood, all uppercase.
Near: work? Clear, concise messages, grammar and punctuation all in place. Anything other than work? Clear and concise, good grammar and punctuation but olala the amount of emojis he uses will surprise you. He just thinks text doesn't express him enough and he doesn't want to appear rude to somebody he cares about. Also emojis are just so insane cute to him. #lookatthatlittledoctoremoji #whatacutedoctor
Matt: 10 short messages in a span of 30 seconds. A moderate about of text slang. No punctuation. All lowercase. A lot of gifs and memes. He will try to communicate with you using almost only those two. He tried it with Mello and was glad he survived because Mello was texting back all uppercase.
Mikami: this man will reread the message 5738738392 times, use 46293739929 spellcheckers, 293774939374 plagiarism checkers, he will pray over the message to all gods in all religions before sending it and at night he will lie in cold sweat hoping he made no mistakes. (I'm not judging, I'm like that 🥲). Good grammar and punctuation, no text slang, no emojis. He is doing his best #justiceformikami.
Matsuda: fairly long messages, a few mistakes here and there. If informal, uses emojis and text slang freely, if formal, uses emojis and text slang freely and gets told its unprofessional #matsudayouidiot. Mixes up abbreviations and gets into awkward situations. Memes all the way.
Takada: long messages with good grammar and punctuation, will use text slang and emojis in informal situations.
Soichiro Yagami: short, clean, proper grammar and punctuation. "Sorry for bothering you" tm. With family he uses emojis and jokes a lot. The Yagamis have a family Whatsapp group and Soichiro daily drops Dad Joke Of The Day.
Aizawa: short n sweet. No emojis. Bad punctuation though.
Watari: extremely polite, clear and proper. He sometimes sends L a random emoji he thought was cool to cheer him up.

Raiden x Reader texting headcannons
-Raiden never uses texting abbreviations for some reason. He seems to think it's easier to spell out the whole thing.
-Additionally, he almost always sends his texts in the form of a fragment, never a complete sentence.
-For this reason, each text is a separate thought, leading to you having 300 notifications because he sent you 300 separate texts talking about one thing.
-Never uses emojis, and if he does send a complete sentence for once, it'll end in a period or otherwise properly punctuated.
-Texting with him is like texting your grandma.
-A typical morning chat with Raiden would look something like this:
Raiden: Morning
Y/N: Heyyyy 😁
Raiden: Do you
Raiden: Have work today
Y/N: Yup
Raiden: So do I
Raiden: Be home at 5
Raiden: what for dinner
Y/N: Idk, what do u want?
Raiden: you decide
Y/N: Kay love u ❤️
Raiden: You too
Raiden: I love you.
Raiden: Have a
Raiden: Good day at work
Raiden: Be safe

Raiden: Love you
-As you can see, texting with him is kinda hard on the eyes, but at least he responds super quickly.
-Often texts you pictures of places he visits during work with no context. One moment you'll be checking on him to see how he's doing and the next, you're met with a massive, random picture of a forest with no caption.
-Also sends you videos of things he finds funny. These videos are often not funny to you, but they are to him. For some reason he thinks a toaster falling over is hilarious. Must be cyborg humor you'll never get.
-Takes the time out of his day to text "Love you" 100 times over the course of 3 hours. It's a sweet gesture, showing how much he cares about you, but the millions of notifications you get quickly grow really annoying.
Do They Text? The Fellowship of the Ring + bonus Elrond, Arwen, Galadriel, Eowyn, Eomer, Faramir, and Thranduil.

Aragorn: 90% of the time, he's out of cell service. Also, sometimes he goes camping and accidentally forgets it. You've got a better chance at reaching him through Arwen or her brothers. He will reliably send pictures of animals and plants from his camping trips though.
Boromir: To his dad? Never. To his brother? Several times a day. To his friends? Once a week or two maybe. He texts very well, just not often unless your name starts with Fara- and ends in -mir.
Legolas: Legolas doesn't talk much, but get to texting him and your phone won't stop beeping at you. That elf sees everything, so along with cool forest and river pictures, you'll get random gossip about people he's petty about. He sends a lot of...risqué texts to Gimli too, so don't scroll through his pictures.
Gimli: He really doesn't like texting. The only exceptions he makes are for Legolas, Gandalf, and the other members of The Fellowship. He has not yet figured out how to send pictures despite Legolas showing him half a dozen times.
Frodo: Yes. If he has the time, he'll respond to you in rhyming poetry or prose formats (if he likes you). If h3 d035n7 h311 r35p0nd l1k3 th15 4nd 1t5 up 2 u 2 f1gur3 0u7 wh47 h35 54y1ng. And no, he will not explain. He'll also send random TikToks and Vines when he should be sleeping.
Sam: Yes, and he sends lots of flower emojis with every text, and doesn't care if you call him gay. He's secure in his masculinity and likes flowers, ok? 🌻🏵🌹🌷🌸
Merry: It's pretty normal for him, and he likes to have whole conversations with Frodo in verse and Vine references. He likes to have whole conversations with Pippin in emojis.
Pippin: 👍💗💣👨👩👧👦👨👧👧📳. 😈🧙♂️(Translation: Yes! He loves to blow up people's phones! Especially Gandalf's.) Better learn to speak emoji. He'll spend hours creating giant pictures made out of emojis too. He once recreated the Mona Lisa in emojis while drunk and no one has ever let him live it down or figured out how he did it.
Elrond: He's in 2 of Gandalf's group chats and doesn't regret it. He pretends to be all proper, but he wants to know all the gossip. He transitioned from sending Aragorn helpful little reminders to angry emojis once he started dating Arwen. Secretly, though, he thinks Aragorn is better than 90% of the guys she could be dating.
Arwen: Yes. Tons of selfies too! Somehow, autocorrect has never changed a single word she's texted. She, Eowyn, Eomer, and Aragorn have a group chat titled horses where they just send each other pictures of horses (and occasionally Eomer in a horse mask terrifying his little cousins). Every time Aragorn sends in pics of other animals, they send angry emojis (unless it's a baby animal or dog).
Eowyn: At first, no, but once she got a phone that wasn't a Nokia, yes. Like Aragorn, she can be hard to reach sometimes. She loves to go trail riding and mountain climbing, and mainly sends beautiful landscaped. She thought the group chat would be awkward because of her crush on Aragorn, then she met Faramir and decided she would take that boy on ALL the road trips and get selfies with him on all the famous places. Embarrassingly enough, they didn't realize they were dating until uncle Theoden and her brother Eomer started telling everyone about how nice and polite her boyfriend is.
Eomer: His name keeps autocorrecting to Elmer and he is not happy about it. He's long term military, and sends lots of photos from around the world. He tends to drunk text a lot, and Faramir likes to send him and Eowyn mad libs filled in with his drunken ramblings. He says he hates that... and yet, still texts Faramir every time he drinks and sometimes follows up with him if he doesn't get a Mad Libs after the hangover is gone.
Galadriel: Yes. It's hard to tell when she's texting sometimes. She has all the details on everyone because people tend to forget they've added her to group chats, and she doesn't correct them.
Faramir: Texts his brother every day and his dad never. He was terrified of Eomer when he started dating Eowyn, but Eomer basically said 'new little brother!', and now he's in the group chats. Eomer and Eowyn also text him with alarming frequency that 'hey, I'm at your house, road trip time.' Boromir's not jealous, just super happy his little brother has friends now and goes places instead of staying near their abusive dad all the time.
Thranduil: He has a gossip chat going on with all of his kids, but mainly Legolas since he's the one who goes everywhere most often. He and Gloin mourn about how their sons are dating- not because they're dating men, but because do they really have to date the son of their rival company's CEO? He also drunk texts Galadriel and Elrond a lot, forgets he did it, and gets creeped out by how much they seem to know about him.
Do they text? Gandalf + The Company (and bonus Dís & Tauriel)
Thorin: Yes, but only when he's in a happy or normal mood. When upset, he calls or it's complete silence. He prefers texting to calling in general.
Dwalin: No. In fact, every time someone texts him, he just calls them or physically goes out to find them and talk face to face.
Oin: Yes, he does. He didn't when texting first came out, but due to his hearing loss, he finds it really useful.
Gloin: He is in 5 group chats right now, and spamming all of them with pictures of his children's sporting events, family vacations, and baby pictures.
Bifur: Not really. He uses a Nokia flip phone from the 90s. When he does text, he amazes literally everyone by how fast he can do it on that little thing.
Bofur: Yes, but there are so many autocorrect mistakes that nobody can understand him half the time.
Bombur: He thinks texting is too impersonal, and prefers to call or meet face to face. He will happily make an exception for sending pictures of food.
Balin: Yes. Especially when dealing with work, because he's a fan of CYA, and texts are, legally speaking, written and can be used in a court of law. Everyone is always surprised due to his age.
Dori: V e r y s l o w l y. W I t h l o t s o f e r e r s. C a n y o u j u s t c a l l m e ?
Ori: Yes! He loves to text because he's a little quiet and shy over the phone or face to face.
Nori: No, and he doesn't for the same reason Balin does. The only times he texts are answering texts from Ori or when he needs an alibi.
Fíli: All the time. To friends, family, pretty girls, pretty boys, pretty people in general. He's also the main one Thorin calls over to translate Bofur's autocorrects. He also texts people back to back one word by word until they respond if he feels like being a jerk.
Kíli: Yes, and outside of family, it tends to be strange conversations. Fíli is pretty sure dinosaurs are code for something in his and Tauriel's convos, but he is a paleontology major and she's a biology major, so maybe not? And why is he talking about ships and cannons so much? Thorin does not ask him to translate txt spch because once, Kíli told him LOL meant Lots of Love, and then he got a lot of angry calls from relatives when his grandfather finally kicked the bucket passed away.
(Dinosaurs are not code, but ice cream flavors are! He doesn't even eat ice cream, he's lactose intolerant.)
Tauriel: Pretty much exclusively to Dís, Kíli, Fíli, or Legolas. And she is a Forensic Pathology major, thank you very much Fíli! 50% of her convos are school or fic and fanart related with Kíli, the other half is for everyone else. She likes to send him pictures of half completed fanart and make him guess what it will be.
Bilbo: Usually, yeah. He's bad about getting distracted and forgetting he had a text though thanks to ADHD, so it's best to call him if you need something ASAP.
Gandalf: This man has to keep up with so many people. He's in 12 group chats, regrets all of them, and yet still asks for gossip.
Dís: Yes. She is also the only one who does understand Kíli's texts about ships and canons. They have a long running bet on how many Destiel, Johnlock, Tasertricks, and Matt/Foggy references they can make before anyone picks up on it.
This is also the reason Kíli has two AO3 accounts. He posts the cute, family friendly ones on the account his mom know about, and his...less family friendly ones on the other.
