i definitely think mello was crying and throwing up while hacking pavone’s head off

i really like how in death note, matsuda is the only one in the task force that doesn’t think kira is completely evil, and he actually takes his side a little bit, even in the beginning. and at the end, he’s the one that actually shoots kira.

and he doesn’t even shoot him out of the fact he’s kira, or rather, that’s not what he was mainly thinking about in the moment he shot him. instead of calling him evil for killing all those people, he says “what was it for?? what did your father die for???” and “he was a good man!! he was innocent!!”. he doesn’t focus on the fact that light killed mass amount of people, because matsuda isn’t completely against it, he believes that evil people should not exist. he cares about the fact that light killed someone innocent, or rather, he let someone innocent die for no reason.
