I’ve been thinking abt changing my Pyro’s name from Alice to Irene because of Engineer’s one voiceline (yes ik it’s probably just an expression or something but I thought it would be cute for Engie to love his wife so much he uses that expression)
Tho the name Alice fit’s Pyro’s character a lot more and I love the Alice Cooper reference I made😭😭
Ello! Hope you're doing well, :DD If its alright, may I request the mercs with a teen recruit, who- acts or is very mature for their age? Like, they're almost like an older sibling figure, despite being the youngest of the mercs. How would they react to that or something-
Like.. Maybe imagine the mercs venting to them about certain things, and they just say stuff that you normally, will hear from people such as therapists, or adults who know how to comfort people
[ All platonic,, of course- I do apologize if this is a bit too much, ]
Mercs with a teen recruit that's really mature for their age.
Scout- at first he doesn't really like it. He thinks it's kinda speaks bad of him that someone below his age could be much more reasonable than him. But it grows on him. Mostly because he finds it embarrasing to cry on any other teammates' shoulder, and it's nice to have someone who just listens without judging,
Soldier- as per usual, Jane doesn't think much...of the situation of course, he will probably see them as any usual recruit,
Pyro- they're happy there's someone around the base that they can finally have some similarities too, but turns out they're not childish at all. Pyro is a bit disappointed, but still tries to befriend them,
Demoman- upon wondering how does that kid settle so much emotions inside themself. He tries to be a good friend to them, but it ends up with them being more of an older wise sibling to him. But he remembers to always be there for them too,
Heavy- he knows there's a certain age where a person gains their seriousness, and he knows it's definitely not during the teenage era. He also had a pretty tough childhood that made him very mature at a young age, and he's scared this might also be the case. He makes sure the recruit knows they're also a human being, and that they don't need to be acting mature to get their teammate's respect,
Engineer- he's pretty neutral on that matter. He likes them, but it makes him a bit uncomfortable how they seem to know more about life than him. Sometimes he sits down and wonders what's wrong with the new generation,
Medic- awesome that they know so much, but in his medical opinion he's the one who knows more about life than the rest of the team. He does not accept critism on his thesis,
Sniper- he likes the kid, definitely loves to talk to them. They become his personal consouler,
Spy- surprisingly, he would actually get on very well with them. Probably hang out with them outside of missions, maybe discuss "adult stuff" with them.
So I know many people give Pyro super childish hobbies and interests, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I have a headcanon that they have a small interest in taxidermy.
Everything is ethically sourced and they want to learn how to prepare specimens themself!
(Taxidermy talk below cut! Nothing too detailed, but beware if you’re not into vague descriptions of the art form.)
They mainly have mounted bugs, a couple small animal wet specimens, an eel and a baby snake, and a couple of dried sea horses.
How would the mercs react to someone on the opposite team helping them during a humiliation round? Would they return the favor? Be insulted to have an enemy help them? Use it to their advantage?
Mercs reacting to an opposite team member helping them during a humiliation round.
Scout- he's a bit mad there even has to be a round like this, and he's a moody bastard about it. Even if someone from the enemy team decides to help him, he will be very angsty...at first. He finally gives in and lets them help him around, but makes sure no one will ever know about it,
Soldier- he's a man full of honour, and refuses to let anyone help him. He thinks it would be unfair if he accepted the proposition of assistance,
Pyro- they will only accept help if they make sure the enemy doesn't get in trouble because of it. He dislikes setting people in bad situations because of him. The round will probably end faster than they get convinced to accept the aid,
Demoman- Tavish feels like it's his fault that the round is going on overall, he thinks if he gave more from himself he could've saved his teammates' butts. He gladly accepts the help, although it makes him a bit embarrassed,
Heavy- he accepts the help, but keeps in mind that he would need to recompense it in some way eventually. He makes sure the helper knows they can count on him in the future,
Engineer- Dell will take the help without any further thinking. He just knows he would probably want to help someone too in a situation like this,
Medic- let's not forget how manipulative this guy is. Of course he's gonna take the help, but he's gonna run a bonesaw trough the helper's stomach as soon as they turn around,
Sniper- he's very awkward about it. The enemy? Helping?...but as long as he makes it without getting wounds, he will take any help,
Spy- he's too busy hiding behind bushes and sneaking around corners, avoiding the enemies, to take help. In fact, if someone offered him help that would mean he's not so great at sneaking and being invisible to the eye, which would make him insulted.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN HOPE YOUR DOING ALRIGHT ! ANYWAYS HERES MY REQUEST:D
mercs with a child who seems really creepy at first but is actually really cool?
Like they really quiet,is usally in the dark, stares at something for a long time etc,? Vut there actually really cool and interesting
Hoe you have a good day and remeber to not overwork yourself👍🤭
Mercs with a child who seems creepy at first, but turns out to be nice.
Scout- at first he's like " get this thing away from me ", overall avoiding the kid and trying not to talk to them. But one day, during his baseball practice he threw the ball really far away. He wanted to go get it back, but the kid has already found it before him. They gave him back the ball, saying how cool his sport skills are- and ever since that, he has sworn to protect them at all cost.
Soldier- he doesn't think much, just finds it "very immature" when they don't reply to him when he tries to talk to them. But a few weeks after they get used to the base, they give him a drawing showing Solly and the kid. He patriotic heart softens immediately, he takes the kid and adopts it immediately.
Pyro- they don't like to presume anyone as weird. They like the kid, even if they're a bit odd to the others. Mostly because he knows how hard it is to be a little different himself. Always makes sure to protect the kiddo in case another merc has a problem with them.
Demoman- he's questioning the fact that the Administrator allows a child in the base in the first place. He tries not to engage to the kid, he doesn't want it to be raised through war. But then he kinda grows on them when they him things like "I love your eyepatch, Mr. Cyclop!,
Heavy- immediate bear dad response is to make sure the kid is feeling well all the time. He's scared their strange behaviour is associated with something that happened in the past, and he makes sure to keep them happy at all times,
Engineer- Dell thinks something must be up about the kid. He stays up nights trying to figure it out, and gets close to the child to figure it out. After noticing how much open they are when he plays with them, he gets an idea! And so, he builds them wooden toys, little robots who say their name and a little communication module they can use instead of talking,
Medic- he doesn't like this child, nothing will change it...or so he thought. But one day after a long battle when he got back to the lab and noticed the kid playing with his doves his heart melted. It turned out they really like talking about the doves too, and so, Medic found a new friend that liked to listen to him ramble about birds,
Sniper- he isn't exactly good with kids in the first place, and mostly thinks it's his apperance and personality that makes the kid so closed off before him. But then he realizes he was also quite a strange kid. So he asks the kid what they like and stuff, and realizes they might be really interesting. Fast forward time and he takes them on trips in his vans because he likes them so much,
Spy- he's just a big salty butt towards the kid at first. But then they start following his around, saying just how cool they think he is, and how it's awesome that he can disguise as just anybody. And eventually, he grows towards them too. He stops smoking and invites them to his room to teach them how to play chess.
How would the mercs react to finding a member of the opposite team severly injured and defenseless outside of the respawn area and possibly beging for help?
A/N- This one's real long. All together it's around 1400 words. Welp, hope you enjoy!
Mercs finding an injured enemy team member outside the respawn zone.
Tw. injuries, blood, smoking, implied murder in Medic's one.
Scout-
Being shot in his arm, he decides to leave the battle grounds to find a medkit. He wanders off almost to the end of the battle zone before he finds one. He quickly patches himself up, takes some pain killers and reloads his scattergun with new ammunition. However, when he's ready to run off back into the fight, he hears whimpers coming from somewhere behind him. He looks around and sees a crumbled figure outside the "safety zone".
Jeremy swallows his saliva and looks closer, realizing he knows this person, and it is someone from the opposite team. He doesn't know what to do at first. He shouldn't care about them, Mann.Co would come pick them out of here after the fight anyway. But upon leaning in closer, Scout realized the scars on their body look very bad. He swallowed hard, and stepped out of the respawn area. They heard him and looked up. Their eyes widened and they began to shake.
- Hey, it's okay, uhm...let's get you to your Medic!- He said. Before the person's shock ran out and they could reply, Jeremy crouched and delicately placed his arms under their back and legs. He struggled a bit to lift them, but he finally managed to do that. Some of their blood stained his already red shirt. Making sure to keep his promise, he took them right to the enemy Medic.
Soldier-
He was pretty close to the end of the safety zone, chasing after a sound that he could swear was a spy's footsteps. He ended up stepping out of the respawn arena. The footsteps he thought were a spy's actually belonged to a person that was now looking right at him with a hand over a huge scar on their stomach.
- Please don't...don't shoot me.- They managed to mutter out.
Soldier lowered the shotgun in his hand, tilting his head at them.
- Please...help me get to my team.
- Is this a trap, maggot?!- He asked, raising his voice.
- No, please...I'm losing blood.- The person kept on saying. Soldier sighed, and extended his free hand out to them.
- Okay...- He mumbled under breath as they took his hand into theirs. He kept an eye on them as he led them towards their team's base.
Pyro-
They saw a squirrel and followed it out of the safety zone. While observing the animal, they heard noises behind them. They looked around, ready to attack, when they saw an injured enemy that looked clearly afraid of them.
He ran off, and didn't seem to be coming back for some moments. Until he came back with a medkit in his hands, and slowly patched up the enemy without saying a single word.
Demoman-
Escaping away from an angry Soldier, Tavish ran out of the respawn area to take some deep breaths. He smiled under his breath, trying to come up with a plan to fool the Soldier. But while busy wondering, he heard somebody call out his name softly. He looked down, to see one of the enemy team members on the ground before him, scars all over their body.
At first he didn't know what to do, but he swallowed hard, and got an idea.
- MEEEEDIIIIC!
Heavy-
Misha gets those awful headaches sometimes during battles, and they're bad enough that he needs to take breaks to fight them. During one of those breaks, he came towards the end of the battlefield arena and calmly stayed there for some minutes, trying to clear out his mind. Suddenly, he heard cries for help coming from somewhere further outside of the respawn area.
He knew that he could probably help, and so he began to follow the sound. Wasn't exactly expecting to see one of his enemies begging him for help. But Heavy has his honour and he takes pride in the enemy. And so he threw them over his shoulder, even though they kicked and screamed for him to let them go, and carried them to their team's base without saying a word.
Engineer-
He was just building a " nest " behind his team's lines. He set up the dispenser, and was slowly putting out the teleporter exit, when he heard slight sobs coming from somewhere at the end of the battle zone. He looked around to find nothing, so he went back to working. But the sobs didn't stop, and it made him anxious. He decided to follow the sound and see what, or rather who, causes them. Trying to figure it out, he came across one of the enemies laying down in their own blood. Without thinking, he knew he needed to help. Although, his body was already a bit worned out from setting up his buildings, and he didn't have the energy to carry the wounded. He ended up dragging them by the legs towards his nest, where he used the dispenser to patch them up.
Medic-
After a big Überfail, Ludwig was just running away from the enemies, trying to lose them. Eventually he ran out of breath, and decided to hide outside the battle zone. He stayed in the shadows for some minutes, he heard footsteps running past his hiding place, and exhaled deeply. However his breath was followed by someone else's. He spooked a bit, looking around. Then he saw one of the enemies laying there, so scarred it was a surprise they weren't dead.
He looked at them confused, but then an idea appeared in his head. He forcefully brought them up to his eye level, and with no comment threw them back into the safety zone. They painfully landed on the ground, letting out a small yelp. Ludwig smiled under breath as he took out a saw from under his jacket. He was sure gonna get some revenge on that team.
Sniper-
Finding a good sniping spot is hard. Half of the time Mick ends up behind the respawn area, and his teammates need to yell at him to come back. This time was no different, as he settled himself between some rocks and didn't plan on moving. As he fixed his scope, he lit up a cigarette to keep him company.
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his back. He yelped, the cigarettes fell out of his mouth and his rifle crashed to the ground. He looked at whoever was touching him, only to realize it was one of the enemy's mercenary. He analysed them confused, seeing how worn out they looked, and how their clothes were blood stained.
- You need my help, mate?- He asked, raising an eyebrow. He received no answers, only a nod. And so he stood up, sighing delicately.
- Stay here, I will get my doc to help.
Spy-
When disguised, he usually uses the outside to sneak behind the enemy lines. Yes, that is cheating, but not like anyone ever found out yet.
And this once, disguised as a Soldier, he slowly worked his way towards the enemy base, swinging his butterfly knife in hand. However, he was stopped by a voice.
- Soldier? Soldier, please! I need help...- Someone yelped out. He looked towards them, finding himself a bit taken off guard. It was in fact someone from the other team, and they believed he was their teammate. Killing them now would be easy, but respawn doesn't work here and he would...
Thinking about it for a moment, Spy decided he will play his role correctly. He took the wounded into his arms, sloppily had to pretend to be as strong as Soldier, and somehow managed to take them up to their base. Without saying goodbye, he put them against the wall, gave them a small wink and disappeared back into the mist, hoping their team will take care of them.
