Well, look who it is...
That's right, Esoteric Tolkien Week, your center for all things strange, mystical, inexplicable, and unfathomed in Arda and beyond, is back for round two! We are open to all types and ratings of fanwork, and are eager to welcome returners and new faces alike. A few bits of useful tattle for the moment:
Further information and event guidelines can be found here
Prompts will be released by the end of the month (March 31st, 2026)
Event planned to run July 13th - 19th, 2026
An ao3 collection will open closer to the run date—if you have any work hanging around that you'd like to submit now, or just want to get inspired, you can find the small but mighty 2025 collection here
And that's about it for now! Feel free to jump in the askbox with any burning questions you come up with in the meantime, or any other words that need sharing.
Looking forward to creating with you again in this second lap of ours 💫 Welcome, or welcome back.

Tolkien Siblings Week rides again!
Immeasurably happy to announce that Tolkien Siblings Week, your annual hub for fanworks of all types centered on all sibling sets in all Tolkien works, is returning for its second year in fall of 2026! It will be running from the same dates as last year (November 23rd-29th), and operating on the same guidelines.
In terms of logistics, optional prompts will be released on June 23rd, leaving you a bountiful five months in which to brainstorm and work your creative magic. An ao3 collection will go live in the last few weeks leading up to the event; we ask that if you plan to add to the collection, you hold back on posting your work until then (although sharing previews or snippets is just fine).
Not much to say at the moment beyond that, except that it's great to be back, and we're hoping to welcome many new faces this year among our beloved returners. In the meantime, any burning questions can be sent via the askbox, messages, or in replies. And all reblogs are of course awfully appreciated as we work to get the word out ♡
Much love till the 23rd! We hope you're as excited as we are.

"There stood the house of the Golden Flower who bare a rayed sun upon their shield, and their chief Glorfindel bare a mantle so broidered in threads of gold that it was diapered with celandine as a field in spring; and his arms were damascened with cunning gold." - J.R.R. Tolkien, The Book of Lost Tales Part Two, "The Fall of Gondolin"

Tuor at Maeglin: don't take this in the numerous wrong ways you could take it, but you would make such a great distressed Victorian woman running around a castle at night.
