he understands the rules and regulations that they have been put under but there was no way he could not tell shiah noona even a little bit about it all. as she has been with him since they both signed and joined the company together. in all the time that they have lost friends through debuts or just leaving the company, it’s been him and shiah. the two who joined together and who stayed together. of course he had to tell her that he was moving forward--finally. 

“hey...noona.” he called her attention during a break, having slipped off from private training to find her. “i need to talk to you.” he was trying to not sound suspicious or as if he were here to impart bad news. but it was hard to not sound that way when he was also attempting to not draw attention to them. so he managed a smile to show he merely wished to talk and nothing devious was afoot.

“how long has it been since you’ve been my tutor?” hyunjoon questioned after a long moment of just reading over the lyrics to his part again. he knows the basics of japanese ( and by that, he means he nows anime popular phrases ) and had studied a bit to be able to read a bit. but his overall knowledge was lacking, especially when considering rapping in the language. “how long have you known me...?” his brows furrow as he ponders the new question. often it feels as if dongmin has been in his life for well all of it. he often can’t recall a time that dongmin hadn’t been around and perhaps that was due to the fact his mother adores the older boy and is always wanting him around. it’s felt like dongmin was a part of the family, and just another older brother for him for a long while now.

the party had been such a good idea in dongmins opinion. everyone who was anyone in the five companies was here. he saw other trainees, spotting his cousin and friends from other companies, the CEO’s were here, coaches and just everyone. even the trainees who were nearing debut were allowed to show up, dongmin has every plan to take out kibum the first chance he had. 

but the big one was the CEO’s. he had spotted eat fresh seongsangnim--otherwise known as royal’s ceo, jisub sajangnim--moments ago and dongmin knew he would need to find the time to approach the older male. he had things to ask him--or well, tell him. 

puns.

dongmin has so many puns he thought the CEO would love to hear and this party was such a good time to approach him and talk to him about it. even CEO’s need a good laugh every now and then. and dongmin figured these jokes would really get to jisub. break through that business man exterior. and lucky he had enough sugar running through is viens already that dongmin was more than hype to go for it. “i’m going to go talk to jisub sajangnim” dongmin spoke out loud, not really caring who heard.

the sun beats down on them and honestly hyunjoon wishes he could just push the sun somewhere else for a while. he’s certain even with the bucket hat on and the sunscreen he put on, he’s going to end up burning. given that he rarely is outside--but ignoring that. it’s not a bad time out here, he is with dongmin. it had been so fucking awesome finding out dongmin was now a trc trainee with him. his hyung making the kind of intimidating halls seem less scary. “sorry, he’s taking a break from photos right now.” hyunjoon told the giggly girl in front of him, keeping his voice lower to not grab the older males attention. his stack of flyers he’s supposed to also be handing our lay untouched on the ground between them with a water bottle on them to keep them from blowing away. “dongmin hyung, here.” he ignores the question thrown at him by the people hovering as he grabs the other water, opens it, and hands it to the older.

sleepovers are a common occurrence for hyunjoon, given that him and hyojeong spent a lot of time attached at the hip when they weren’t in training. his mom was quiet use to him having people over, be it his best friend or his boyfriend or one of the many hyungs he has befriended, that most of the time she doesn’t even bat an eye when he comes home with someone and declares sleepover tonight. 

especially when the person he brings home just happens to be one of her favorite people in his life. so when a sleepy hyunjoon comes home with dongmin trailing behind him, she was more than happy for them both to be here. though due to the hour of the night ( well the morning technically ) she merely greeted them before shooing them to bed. 

“mom started putting extra clothes in the bottom drawer of my dresses.” he said through a yawn, leading dongmin to his room by holding onto one of his hands despite knowing the older knows where everything is.

tag. a game he is familiar with. yes hyunjoon has seen many episodes of running man in his years of watching this stuff. he knew exactly what they would be doing and he was more than siked to get going. he’s always wondered how he would fair in a game like this, considering he feels like his height would have him at an advantage for hiding. and when the game started his first goal was to find somewhere to hide for a bit. at least until it seemed more people were out. his plan was stalled as he skidded to a stop moments from running into someone. “noona...” he starts, hesitantly. half crouched in a i’m ready to run away position. “it’s too early in the game to betray anyone.” he says quietly, calmly. thinking maybe he could get sowon to align herself with him. a temporary alliance.

“--i made sure to back a few extra sunscreens. i don’t know how much time will be in the sun but...” hyunjoon trailed off as he spoke, focused on setting up some of his stuff in their temporary stay. he’s really glad he got to room with dongmin. the teen has never been someone who sleeps well when in a new environment but having dongmin near by would help keep him from being as restless. luckily it’s not a long time here--though he couldn’t imagine what he’ll do once he debuts if they ever go over seas... something to worry about in the future. it was as he turned to throw something onto his bed that he spotted the rather large bug on the wall. a startled shout leaves him, automatic instinct to run taking over and making him back up a few steps very quickly. “hyung! we--we have a guest...”

“i don’t know how this qualifies as variety, hyung.” hyunjoon says from behind his phone, finally lowering it again so he could post the third story featuring said hyung before him. it’s late--as in they both just got back from training and since no one was home, hyunjoon had asked seungjoon if he could stay over until someone was back. if he remembered right his brother was at a friend and his mom had a late shift. they’d been going over ideas for the next part of the months evaluation. thinking up skills or things they could do to show off their variety sides that would appease the judges. “you just look....” he pauses, not sure how he wants to word this. dumb was what came to mind but he isn’t trying to upset the older. his thought process pauses though as he finishes taping the caption for the story and he frowns. “we really need to get you a instagram... it’s so lame not being able to tag you in these.”
