Did I ever tell y'all about the time my coworker and I were chattering about Arya's fashion sense (or lack thereof) in MIC and how she either wears her fatigues with a random tshirt or tanktop with her combat jacket or the same thing just with long cargo pants when off duty because 1. she's dressed like this 99% of the time for more of her life than she dressed in 'normal' elven clothes so it's embedded, and 2. I don't think she's gone clothes shopping since she left Ellesmera as an elf version of a teenager so would probably just...not have any other clothes. She steals Glen's clothes and Eragon's once he's taller but otherwise just generally dresses like she does for the field.

Well, my coworker immediately chimes in with "Oh, okay. So, lesbian coded." I reiterated that she was demisexual heavily straight leaning and that she didn't have any other clothes. To which my coworker again said, more slowly and firmly, "Right. Lesbian. Coded."

We agreed to disagree.

Four fuckin' hours later, I stop mid-rethread, look down at myself, wearing cargos, a grungy tshirt and one of the three to four rotating jackets I keep in my car, look back up with this dawning expression, got up, walked to my poor coworker just doing her job hooping hats and said 'Hey! I dress like that!'

"I know. Lesbian coded."

we then had a good laugh over yes, it took me Islanzadi levels of '........oh, son of a bitch!' pause akin to when Arya told her Brom often said Arya got her looks from her mother and her brains from her da.

And this still makes me chuckle.
