“terflies: On the topic of @idontlikecispeople—who ostensibly coined...”
Is your name 'transmeds'? No. I wasn't saying *you* asserted the entire discourse started with her.
If you say something in a response directed towards me, in a post made to disprove one of my claims, I’ll obviously take a comment like that as being directed towards me. Especially given that it’s ambiguous enough to look like it’s directed at me.
I said it like twice and I’ll say it one more time. The arguments over whether or not you need dysphoria or incongruence or whatever the FUCK were started by who cares in the year of why bother.
IDCP coined the term “Tucute” for her mindset of “you don’t need dysphoria/incongruence/whatever to be trans” because she thought whether or not one was cis/an oppressor class and trans/an oppressed class was a choice, and coined the term “Truscum” for her opposer’s ideas of “being trans isn’t a choice, you need dysphoria/incongruence/some other word for the concept of a disconnect & desire to be the other gender”.
This is a smaller facet of the overall discourse you talk about. I have never seen anybody claim that she started the entire debate, only that re-sparked it by giving both sides a name and adding a new fold to it.
The tucute movement as it is right now as I fucking type is probably different from IDCP’s original vision, maybe not, but I don’t know anything about that. All I’m saying is that people who use “tucute” and “truscum” should know where those terms came from and consider the implications and ramifications.
