Have you ever seen one of your childhood book OTPs on the screen together for the first time and literally started crying? BECAUSE I AM RIGHT NOW.

#your girl #so the thing about outlander is #I grew up reading these books #I read them WAY too young but I probably started reading them around the same time as harry potter #THAT YOUNG #they were hugely influential to me as a writer and a reader #and the adaptation is pretty near perfect #like: I know the problematic aspects okay #I know #(I was already in fandom when dg went on her rant about fanfiction)#BUT #this is formative influence stuff and I don't care #this series is one of the top five formative media of my entire life #and the television adaptation is just...it's the books onscreen and it's like I'm a kid again #and I'm really glad I'm old enough now that the adaptation came out that I can appreciate it

Someone asked me if I was fifteen

Someone thought I was a fourteen-year-old who needed to ask my parents before I bought a book

And the kicker? I was mistaken for a twelve-year-old swim lessons student on Saturday morning—I’m the instructor.

I am eighteen years old, fairly mature, a coach, a teacher, and I hold a part-time job while being a full-time student. And yet I’m still routinely mistaken for the same kids I teach. smh
